I'm looking to build a new front driveshaft. I already have a 16 spline x 14" slip on my rig, but the guys at Cincinnati Driveline & Hydraulics only used an 2 1/2" splined female slip and now it wobbles like crazy. They suck! I need to find at least a 6" 16 spline female collar and some DOM tube to match it. The other end is just a 1350 joint. Anybody know of a place online or in town that would have these parts?

I tried, they just looked at me like it was my fault.
They are good if you need a stock shaft. I had them build both shafts for me. I told them what I was doing with the truck, and it needed to be strong. They used .083 tube, yeah, that didn't last long... The front CV died in Harlan first trip. I sleeved them with sch. 40 pipe after I twisted them in half.

you might try parts for a PTO shaft for a tractor. They are big and beefy looking but I would not want one if you plan on driving it on the road or going fast in Hi range.

Correction. I was way off. It's an 1 5/8 - 16 spline shaft, not 10... Not sure where I got that at?? This might be easier to find...

Looked for hours and can't find anything. Found plenty of 16 spline stuff, just not 1 5/8.

I looked at them several times yesterday. I didn't see a 16 spline coupler that was 1 5/8. They have one for the 10 spline though. I think I'm going a different route. I saw plenty of 9" slip setups. The most I could get my slip to move was 5". I guess 14" was a tad much...

Watching this. I'm in need of a long slip setup on one of my yotas but don't want to double the value of the truck with a new driveshaft. Cincy driveline was outrageously expensive when I got a quote from them.

Yeah, they charged me $450 for the front shaft. Never again...

Found a place online, have heard they are reasonably priced but haven't looked into it much yet grobinc.com or something like that.

I wonder if they sell to the general public? It might be hard to find a yoke to fit their spline.
Neapco sells a PTO setup for rock crawlers. It's similar to my setup.

Does anyone know off hand what trucks use 1350 joints in their stock front drive shafts? I want to get one from u pull for a temporary fix until I link my truck. Or does anyone have one they will sell cheap? Length doesn't matter, I can fix that.

I think late 90s chev one ton trucks had 1350 rears... Could use those to build one

You won't find any with slip yoke driveshafts though. I would try looking at later model Dodge or Ford trucks with the diesels as I believe they have 1350's, though not sure if they have flanges and CV's but might get you the parts.

Just an update on what I'm working on. Ordered some shaft and couplers from surplus center. 1 3/8" 21 spline. A 12" shaft and 2 couplings (2 1/4" long each) ran me right at $100 shipped to the door. Going to attempt to make a long slip shaft for one of my Toyotas this weekend.
Anyone have any tips for keeping everything fairly straight and true?

It's Power Clutch & Drive now. I called them yesterday to see if they can match a slip to my 16 spline shaft. I have to take it them and see if they have anything. If not, off to you pull...

I don't know if an 1 3/8 shaft would hold up in my rig. It would be nice if I could.
That's the hard part. I usually just roll it back and forth and eyeball it. I would never notice a vibration with my tires though.

don't know if it will work for your stuff having not seen it but when I have lengthened or shortened some I use a piece of angle iron long enough to lay the pieces in and that will keep 2 sides straight and that has always worked for me.

That's the hard part. I usually just roll it back and forth and eyeball it. I would never notice a vibration with my tires though.
Diameter should be kept as small as possible for clearance issues such as rocks and crossmembers. 1/4" wall tubing at 1 3/8" diameter held up to a stout big block with no problems.

I'm going to try this too. I ordered 4 couplings and a shaft. 1 of the couplings will be welded to the shaft and then welded in the tube. The other 3 couplings will get welded together for 6 3/4" of splined slip, and welded inside the tube. I ordered two 1350 weld yokes from Drivetrain America that will fit in a piece of my 2 1/8 DOM that I had left over from my cage. I will have the shop down the street turn down the couplings to fit inside my DOM tube. 2" to 1.178" This cost was $200 to my door.

Update on the drive shaft I built using the 1 3/8 spline from surplus center. It failed after 3 trips. I twisted the splines enough to lock it up. I hit a rut and it jammed the d shaft through the transfer case.
I ended up buyng the Neapco parts that fabricator mentioned from drivetrain america to build a new one. I worked it out so I could reuse the end yokes I had. This one is 1 5/8, so it better last...
