Only way I'll drive to dayton is if it's straight thru and out the other side lol.
Just don't buy Nike's and you'll be fine.

I can say they didn't want any rigs involved that have some rust on them.
How many local off road shows are their? Well I'm going cause if their is a chance for it to grow then support is needed. I hate to see a bunch of new JK's that don't wheel and have page 7 bolted on like anyone else but for the chance of something cool being their ill give it a try.

Sexapalloza prolly will suck too but might get you in trouble legal wise. Not the kind of sucking I want to pay for

Sexapalloza is just a bunch of horny men (us) and fat nympho women.

Not often you can find anything off-road related within 40 minutes of home. Maybe it will suck but if nobody shows up then there will never be anything better. Almost hate to admit it but these guys did a decent job at the JeepJams I attended (don't own a Jeep but it's basically my hometown and a buddy lives a 1/4 mile away).

Dude just don't go. Instead of spending the amount of time you do bashing it just don't go. Let others who actually go give their opinion and stop trying to convince others to not go. I've been a member for 4 years now and this is the first expo they've done since I've been with them. Just yesterday Rob listed several vendors on Facebook who are attending.
Just saying here king of the hammers first year was 20 guys. We don't have any off road parks around here to support s big show. Hell there very few parks in Ohio period . I was at Louisville last year you could walk it all in an hour. Half of the indoor building was full . I'll go back it was fun but not a full day .

I plan on going just to walk around with my little girl. She want to go and look around. Dont care how good it is or isnt. If it offroad related there should be something good. Last I saw over a 1000 people said they were going.

Clay valley owner will be there as will mud madness owners.
Ohio has alot of wheeling. Just have to know where to look.
We don't have harlan type stuff but the are tons of parks that need supported

I'm taking the kids and I said I was going on fb and I get daily updates of new vendors and guests that are coming. Last big one was a monster truck for the kids
donaldcon

A 19 80s style monster truck. Not a 2015 style.
Dodge truck on military axles and big tires.

FWIW, I believe that other vendors will be there other than just the Car Dealerships that are posted. TKH Fabrication and I heard (not confirmed) that MOAB Offroad of Louisville will be there too.

I agree with you. There are folks heading in from Cleveland from my group. I am driving nearly 3hrs. That's a trip to ivy or rush for me. I'd rather support parks than this event after the actions of that guy.

U talkin bout me? I know the positive and would expect the positive to be obvious. Its the other that tends to catch us by suprise. There's people traveling 3+ hrs for this. Even as I write this they're still advertising as looking for vendors and vehicles. Posted as being 7acres of floor space and its going to be full. 7 acres? Parking space maybe. I'm merely stating the obvious or have unanswered questions. I'm not the only one. Many are asking for a vender list for a reason. I'm all for the support of local 4x4 100%. Jeeps, toyota's, buggy's whatever. Just not fords.
Ok, so to answer the topic question, no, you are not going. Right?

Yeah it got taken out in a hurry by the admin. I then got a message of apalogies from the admin for his actions.
I call it like it is, sometimes it makes me seam like a pick. I'm not a paid member here but I have alot more respect, and alot more in common with yall. And I've seen core members out supporting venues more so than them so I jumped in quick when nfsebuch was crying about core.
The admin over there reaching out to me means alot. So I will continue to help promote thier events.
Anyhow per 93 crawler request maybe we should keep this on track.
I still ha e roughly 20 folks from or associated with my group planning to go.

Thanks for having our backs. There were several of our club members that were supporting the expo, not bashing it. Not sure why he would bash our club because of some comments from non members.

I had every intention of going and I was trying to get my Toyota in. Talked to the guy running it and I wasn't very happy by the end of that conversation. I understand the want for pretty vehicles but that's not what I want to see when I go to an off road expo because that's not what you see out on the trail. I want to see something that works. Something that actually wheels so I can get ideas for my own truck. I will not be going because of that conversation that was had

I never talked to them about taking a rig but I saw the advertisement for show quality trail rigs. I just chuckled. That's why I exspect a bunch of dealership jks with bolt on Mopar equipment and maybe a few ford raptors. Not going to find a true trail rig around here that's show quality

I know of a few trail rigs that are show quality, but one is at KOH right now. I also know of a guy who has a rumored 70grand tied up in his new style fj and only runs the main roads at harlan so he doesnt scratch it...
That's NOT a trail rig.

Unfortunately the vast majority of people into the "off-road" thing are mall cruisers, and that also means that is where the majority of the money comes from. A lot of the people going to the expo don't want to see some home-built dented and rusted up (i.e. real world) rig. Back when I was a kid it was unusual to see any kind of modified off-road rig cruising around. Nowadays I see multiple lifted Jeeps and trucks everyday on my drive to and from work. I'm talking tires/wheels, lifts, bumpers, winches, lights, etc, etc... Usually take a closer look at them when they are in a parking lot and it is rare to see one that has any evidence of being off-road. Just about every rig I have ever seen that actually got used on a real trail had some evidence of it. Trail rash on the tires, branch pinstriping on the paint, nicks and chips in the paint, mud still stuck up under the fenders, etc... There is a guy in my other club with a beautiful black YJ who spends hours washing and buffing it out after trailrides (uses it fairly hard) and will fix body panels if they get dented, but you can still tell it is used off-road by looking a little closer.

Would be if I was driving lol
Well anything COULD be a trail rig, if you try hard enough. :D

I posted in the offroadohio fb page. Bunch of people with near stock jeeps that ride the unimproved township roads said it was awesome.
Everyone with real trail experience said it was so so.
That's what I exspected.
I saw some pics. Looks like alot of empty space for vendors but I talked to ralph that runs a local park near me. 2500 admission passes sold today.
So maybe next year they can step it up.
Saw a pic of a couple not show quality real rigs. No true monster trucks some jks. A buggy from dirt nasty. And some outlaw mud trucks.

I thought it was decent and worth the 40 minute trip and $10 to get the family in. The kids probably had a better time than I did because they could sit in the monster truck and all the side x sides. Not a ton of vendors but what I expected for the a first time show. There were a lot of what I consider real-world trail rigs there. Only a few obvious full blow mall crawlers.
I got my train horns from 4 Mudders so I'm happy.
Ur not gona be the guy blastin that thing at 4am thru camp are ya?

Ok what is that?
SAE mini-Baja car built by OSU. SAE is the Society of Automotive Engineers and they write a lot of the standardized testing and material protocols. They hold competitions in which teams of college students build these from scratch based on a set of rules and regulations and then they hold competitions. The biggest thing is the required engine is a 10 HP Briggs & Stratton.
They also have several other competitions such as Formula (think go-carts on asphalt), super mileage (cars modified for max MPG), clean snowmobile, etc...
They also had a small pulling tractor there that they had built.
