Hey everyone. Some of you may have seen the post in the Vendor area on sweatshirts. I was thinking a black hoodie with the logo below on the shirtpocket. (Thanks Carwash for the logo.) Trying to gauge interest in it to determine the final cost (as it will vary some depending on the number of shirts). However so you can plan, lets say they'll cost us $30 a shirt. Post up if you're interested (size(s) too and we'll use this as the order) and I can work with Jason/TrooperII on details. Any questions or suggestions, etc, just let me know.

If you'd rather see the logo across the entire front, let me know. I'm open to suggestions on what everyone wants to see.

How about the logo on the sleeves and another different logo on the back too?

this is what I was thinking, with it going all the way across the chest..

tjjeepjeep

I kind of like this one with just CORE (no text underneath and no shadowing) going across the chest..

I like Trooper II's version... CORE seems easier to read... slightly "vectorized" tread is nice touch... and it will keep folks from asking what CORE stands for...

??possible variation...??
Orange "C.O.R.E." and black bubble with "Cincinnati Off-Road Enthusiasts" large and center front of chest, and then the white bogger (or IROK, but that's a WHOLE different discussion) tread ONLY down the sleaves??

count me in for a large! However we end up... Thanks Lisa and Jason!!

I like this idea, but with out the bogger track going through the letters on the front, just use then down the sleeve

Yes, forgive me, my description was not great... so I've edited slightly...

Tread on the sleaves only was my intention.

But again, this is a possible variation... not sure what everyone might think of it.
(or if Jason's Ok with some printing on the sleeve, even??)

Great ideas. Keep them coming. Sleeve was a viable option. And I'll work on the graphics and post up as I can.

How about a TSL swamper pattern? :p My 2 cents

I'd ask if you have one to send me or post...but then I realized who I was talking to.

This is why I said that the tread pattern of choice was a different discussion...

I just think that the white "tread" down the black hoodie arm would be a nice contrast...

I'll help as much as I can, JeepJeep... I like the direction that Jason is heading...

Can I add an idea?
I may be way off-base, but I had a few free minutes.
I also do not have the CORE font or logo art, so I just used something kinda similar.

I would love a sweat shirt. I don't care on design. I am easy, just ask my wife.

Anyway good ideas. Excited to see what pans out.

I love the wrenches, saw blade, screwdriver handles, and stuff that can be identified... but the vectorization artifacts, and the extra "squiggles" and things make it a little busy... (this is what Scott meant too)

I would think that from a distance it may look as though Johnny Knoxville took aim with the paintball gun... which could be cool, but I'm leaning toward simplicity... (personal preference, but I do think this is sweet)

tjjeepjeep

I'd agree. Cool from a detail perspective but am afraid it wouldn't translate well to a shirt design as it would appear too busy.

Here's some options...

I'm kinda diggin' 4... JFiscus' one... some of the others are not doing anything for me in the least...

8 would be awesome if we could get tread alllllllll the way around...

8 or 5 is the best. Swamper TSL tracks on the back? Hey jfiscus if the image is toned down just a bit it would be the best I believe. But my opinion is a bit warped. ;)

sadly enough I kind of like 7.

My personal vote would be for 3B. Do we have an official cost of these sweatshirts???

i like both of the 3's

Trooper II... I was trying to be as accurate as possible when representing these images on the shirts... I tried not to do things that weren't possible... I'm assuming that the silkscreen can't really go over a seam or a front pocket?? (or for that matter all the way around a shirt except maybe a front and back image that was close to the edges.)

Let me know if there's anything that you see that isn't possible or seems dumb.

Things like, if we did #5, could we customize the sleeves for "our" tires... (assume Bogger/IROK/TSL are requested in equal parts, I guess)
If I gave you vector files (asuming that would be easiest) for each...would that blow our budget? How close to the shoulders can we get the image, and whatnot.

I like 5 & 8. I guess I should really pay some dues and join if you'll all have me. I meant to come to the last meeting and join but got busy working on the jeep trying to get it out of the garage. (Parents don't like it when their cars have to sit outside cause the jeep is in pieces in there.)

TrooperII

different tire treads would destroy the budget. sticking to one tread means only one screen which translates into affordable. If the image gets to large it will hurt the budget. I almost think if you do just treads on the sleeves it maybe should be in a gray. Most of the ideas you posted are doable. A couple would be rough for me to do. like 4,6 and 8. The image being so large. 9 would be doable if a little smaller.

W/logo on front was around $30. Final price will depend on quantity ordered, design, etc. But that is a ballpark to look at.

Of course! The more the merrier. :D

I'm leaning toward 5. But with the bogger track smaller, if we can keep the detail, and on a single sleeve. I've been told this would look lopsided, any other feedback on that?

Brad -- Thanks for taking the time on the graphics.

jfiscus
11-13-2007, 09:25 AM
Wouldn't the art on a 1-sided sweatshirt be imprinted on the back?
My opinion would be something simple like #5 on the front & #4 on the back, but I'm biased, lol. :p

KargoMaster

TrooperII, I do tend to like the larger images (for our hobby and how much time we spend in the wide open spaces, I think it makes sense to have a graphic visible from a distance), but I can understand that would stretch the budget... I also assumed that the multiple tread idea would kill us... but thought that I should throw it out there for TSL-loving Scott... Is there a size limit on the screen? (16"-18" square type of thing??) Or a preferred aspect ratio?

I envisioned #5 with the tread facing sideways on the sleeves... so that it would be visible from both the front and the back... I kinda hoped it could go to the seam in the shoulder... I just pasted it quickly in there... also can see (and tend to agree with) the desire to make it slightly darker than pure white..

JFiscus, I could see using the same screen (if a relatively simple design) for the front and the back (heck, I'd even like it backwards on the back, but I'm "unique"), but the different images for different sides gets us back to multiple screens, which seems to be a no-no... :D

Although that does beg the question... #5 would have multiple screens, right? One for the tread, with up to 2 uses per shirt, and one for the chest graphic? How much time between silkscreening passes?

Lisa, happy to help, and yes, in my opinion, it would be lopsided, but I also own long sleeve T's with graphics on only one sleeve, so there's definitely a precedent for it... (besides, then we'd have to figure out which arm to silkscreen, and there would be Scott wanting one side when the rest of us want the other... and on, and on it goes... :D)

Doesn't the hood cover or partially cover a logo on back?

TrooperII
11-13-2007, 11:24 AM
each color if layered it a different screen. 1-3's would only be two screens. 4 would be 2, 5 would be 3, 6-8 would be 2, and 9 would be 1. I'm limitied on the size at the moment because my printer is only 8 1/2 wide. I can print out half and all that, but for the price, I need to keep it simple or the budget will go all to hell. I am willing to throw in a screen on the bogger/what ever tread for the sleeves if you decide on that one. I will do my best with the sleeve from the sholder to the cuf. I should be able to do it.

TrooperII, Thanks for answering my (sometimes silly) questions...

Here's the UN-official count so far:

#1 = 1 vote
#2 = 0 votes
#3a = 2 votes
#3b = 3 votes
#4 = 1 vote
#5 = 7 votes
#6 = 0 votes
#7 = 1 vote
#8 = 3 votes
#9 = 0 votes

Here's the #5a that I made to look a little more realistic with the tread on the "sides" of the sleeves, and the general size for the front graphic...

16 is a bit much that would go under the arms and make it harder to read, most chests are around 11 or 12 inches. my suggestion is around 5x10

Here it is toned back a little with only 1-color (same color screened back for lighter section).

The more screens, the higher the cost is the issue.

id put some baby thornbirds on my DD xj,cept he is not driveable at the moment :(

on the shirts, i like 3b or 7. i like the sawblade/wrench/etc. thing maybe for a sticker, not so much for a shirt. also im not a fan of things on my sleeves. maybe pick 7 with a slightly higher cost option of a bogger or thornbird( :D ) on the sleeve for those that want it?

i think #8 would accentuate all you guy's expanding waste lines nicely! (the wife won't let me buy anything with horizontal anything anymore).
