Not a ton to report... was only a day trip.

3 rails, myself, Brandon, and Nathan met up with Gabby (Mike Shelton) and Boomhauer (no one knows his real name, except his boyfriend Brad I'm sure) at about 9:00 a.m. at the Sandlick Camp.

We took off out of there with nothing much in mind except covering a bunch of ground. I got a new GPS for my birthday, and my goal is to create some nice detailed trail maps of the Gorge and Livingston this year.

We didn't cover as much ground as we would have liked due to some mechanical issues. Follow along.

We took off out of camp and headed up to moonshine. Of course a rail can't make it, but we just wanted to map it on the GPS. So Gabby went up it (his second time that day) and made it look easy. We took the long way around and met him at the top of it to then head over to Devil's Brew. I had noticed my buggy getting harder and harder to start every time, and my charging light would never go completely out, so i knew i had some kind of issue going on. At the bottom of Devil's Brew, it decided it had given up, and wouldn't turn over any more. We hoped that it was the batter shorted and not the Generator. Gabby said he had 145 batteries in the back of his truck and was welcome to one of them. I took him up on the offer.

We roll started my buggy and headed back to camp. Gabby continued on, and met us back there in the middle of my battery swap. I picked out a nice Deka 1000 CCA battery and shoehorned it into my buggy. In the midst of this, we found that my oil cooler had broken and was spewing oil all over the rear of the buggy, so we fixed that as well, just bypassing the cooler and running without one. Dumb, but my only choice if i wanted to continue to wheel.

With me all buttoned down, we took off out of camp again to head over to wards Widowmaker. Shortly after the first creek crossing, Nathan's buggy blew a rear brake hose, and took his brakes completely out. So back to camp we go. We told Gabby to continue on and we would meet him shortly after we fix it... We ended up switching some line around and giving Nathan only front brakes. (this would prove interesting later.)

We ran back into Gabby and Boomy on the way to Widowmaker, so we detoured right there and headed up Rattlesnake towards Carburetor. We all zipped up rattlesnake and paused at the bottom of Carb. Bunch of guys were running RC cars up and down it, was fun to watch. Gabby climbed up first. I climbed it, then Brandon followed me. Then we got to Nathan. His buggy is a bit underpowered, he had no rear brakes, and Carb was wet. Nathan let Brandon try it, and after a couple attempts it was decided that Gabby would winch his buggy up the hill.

All was good until Gabby decided to start backing up to pull the buggy up. POW! he blew a chromoly Yukon outer 44 stub to bits. Cleaned it off. Some entertainment was had at the top of Carb as a couple guys on riding mowers pulled up... yes riding mowers... Craziest part is that they kept up with us the rest of the day... nuts. We left Carb and continued out and checked out the lake after that. Beautiful as ever. After that, headed back towards camp. Gabby and boomy had to leave, and we were gonna keep wheelin until we realized that one of Nathan's front wheels had no wheel bearings left. We called it a day as well. Packed up and headed home.

I must say that the high point of the trip was getting to wheel with Mike and to finally meet Boomhauer. Now i can put a face with the name that Brad is always talking about... hahah.

Pics here.

So if boom is Brads boyfriend or vise versa then couldn't it be possible that it's not BRAMY 2.0 but BOOBRAMY 3.0

you can't ride rail buggies there either, or non-street legal tube rigs.. i guess that puts you out of the game too.. hahahh

depends on just how far you want to bend the rules i guess.

the mowers were hilarious.

Truggy is licensed and insured, but legal depends on the eye of the beholder with the power to write a ticket. If I knew that quads would be runnin around I would have gone with you guys.

i see quads down there every time we are there. but, they were not running around with us... we just ran into them on the trail. the girl was on a quad, and the two guys were on riding mowers.

I think it is more like a hillbilly on the rear and a belly full of beer up front and a screw loose!

yes, i'd say that is closer to correct... he kept popping wheelies as well.

to top it all off, they were lost. had no idea where they were.
