I'm going to need some exhaust work done on my 88 4Runner. I'm swapping in a carbed 350, and I'm not running cat converters. I'm going with dual exhaust with 2 glass packs. 2.75" probably. Needs to go from the block hugger headers all the way back. I usually have Ryan's Muffler do it, but they wont do it without installing cats. I don't feel confident enough in my welding skills to do it myself, unless I have to. So where can i get some work done that will do it without installing cats?

Maybe Morehaus's on Tealtown Rd. They do pretty good work. Are you going to run an X-pipe?

If you take the plates off and trailer it in (or say you did), muffler guys will sometimes back off the cat requirement.

Is this a trail vehicle. If so this is the best time to hone those welding skills. Especially if you already have the tools.

Again, is it a future trail vehicle? If so don't go with an X pipe unless you can really tuck it up there. You may have better luck trying to tightly fit an H pipe if you want to balance the exhaust.

If it's a street truck go for an X, they are real nice and can really help with the breathing.

Its defietly a wheeler. I just dont call it a "trail vehicle" since I will drive it on the street too. I dont have a trailer so I have to drive it to and from the trails.

They said they'd do it. Are they expensive? Do you have any experience with them?

If you are going to have it professionally done. Take the time and talk to the actual welder that is doing the work. Describe how the vehicle is going to be used. Climb under there and find a way to really tuck it up tight. Don't forget heat shields where needed.

Good luck have fun.

If southside falls through, and you need to tow it someplace else, let me know.

I've got the truck n trailer, and I'm just down GlenEste-Withamsville at Beechmont...

A buddy of mine used them on a Chevy deal and he loves them. They installed a takeoff cat-back and cut him a righteous deal.
