Well, A HP D30 is stronger and a Super 30 kit can make it 30 spline if you change carrier/locker. stock is 27 spline.
Your in luck I have a HP D30 housing sitting here for you!:D

sent you a PM. I have seen guys run 37"s or 38"s depends on how heavy a foot you have. I ran 36"s for a while with out a problem.

35 bfg krawlers here with a stock hp 30, if i had a super 30 kit, i wouldn't be afraid of running 37's.....

anything over a 35" and you'll be changing balljoints pretty regularly. 35's and smaller, and you'll be fine with that axle.

A 30 indestructable? Never possible. Ring and pinion are small and the ball joints and knuckles break and the axle tubes are thin. You can put alot of money into them and make them survive with moderate wheeling and 35's. Most use the 30 fronts due to not wanting or being able to do a swap. Keep it open with spider gears or air locker and cross your fingers if you wheel difficult terrain often!

I tend to agree.
Also, don't forget about the unit bearings (wheel bearings). I doubt they would last very long with the big tires.
Of course, a HP30 with the bling Super 30 kit probably would be considered indestructable in certain conditions........like if you still ran a D35 rear axle because you would always grenade it first.
