For those that will be going where will you all be staying? Camping at Verda Field? Camping in the park? Or somewhere else. Trying to figure out where I want to stay. And would like to get to meet all of the Cincy folks that attend.:)

I will probably just camp there near the prison as well. All the action is there so might as well stay close. Hopefully it won't be an issue driving our rigs from Verda Field to the park like it was last spring...

1 was for no helmet in a buggy
other one was for a seatbelt or something
i think ...

Yup last spring there were multiple rigs ticketed for different reasons. All were ticketed by a State Trooper I think that wasn't "in the know" or was on a power trip or something. I am still licensed and insured and street legal so I don't worry too much. But I'd rather not have any risk of tickets as this hobby is expensive enough without them in the mix...

It was Jane. No proof of insurance and she didnt have her license plate displayed. But she faxed them her insurance stuff and got out of the ticket.
Now Adam in the buggie had no helmet and it cost him 150 bucks since the state trooper said it was a atv. So I quess if you have a buggie its ok if you wear a helmet?

i've never heard of any probs either, hell frank lives there and drives his buggy into town all the time, i've driven my jeeps all over town with no plates, even had the police stop traffic downtown one time so we could unload once, and then drive out to the trailhead.

I have been there many times allso with no proplems.
When Adam and Jane got their tickets in the spring we had just left the event field about a 1/4 mile up the road going toward Evarts and it was a Highway patrol and he was only their for about a hour or so, wrote a few tickets and moved on.
When we went back to the field we talked to Ken Crider and a few of the other KYMC. guys about it and they said they was nothing they could do about it because that is a state route. And they also told us that if you go strait and dont turn and go across the rail road tracks to go to Bailys creek it allso turns back to a state route so watch it there. But we have never had a problem with the town or county cops.
Here is the thread.

so, who all is still in for sure, someone wanna post a list at the top of the page? you guys plan on hitting the harder stuff, or do you planon trailriding? i really want to do lower damnation, possilbly try cream puff, and do railbed (up the waterfall) again this year, as well as can opener backwards. butch sold his juggy monday, so now he is going to be goining in a mildly built TJ (locked f/r with chromos, 4" lift and 35's). so i'm guessing my group will be mostly trail riding, of which i HATE doing. i want to hit some hard stuff, not just cruise by it.

i'm up for any of em except lions den, i won't fit b/t the tree and rock, i'm too friggin wide. we wedged butch's jeep in there last year, and he was 4" narrower than me. we had to winch him out, it sucked!..

it's six hours from nw ohio. harlan has everything, best place by far i've ridden. you can ride trails all weekend and never leave 2 wheeldrive, or you can wheel hard, and break **** all weekend long. there is scenic and hardcore all wrapped up together. it has it all imo. well worth the trip i think.

Dink W.V. does get the blood pumping that is true. Harlin has a lot to do from mild to wild, all depends on your mood at the time! I can say is fun and you can break alot of parts there but I think section 4 in henton creek bed is going to make or break my rig or just have me quote Pat " hardley nothin " .:D :D

How wide are you? I have never tried Lion's Den but was hoping to try it at Fall Crawl but I am full width also and am now worried that I may not fit. Can you measure outside to outside for me on your rig.
I also agree with everyone else, Harlan is some of the best wheeling on the East Coast. Tons of great scenic trail riding and tons of hardcore obstacles along the way. Best of all, it is always FREE to play and the locals are very supportive of the park.

i'm between 94-96" outside, forget the exact # i'm running full width 60's, with 15" wheels, like 3" backspaced or something stupid like that. i want toswap to 16.5 or 17" wheels to narrow it up, but then i have to buy new tires, and unfortunately my money tree is nowhere to be found, so i'm stuck stupid wide. here's an old front pic that gives an idea of my width

Hopefully not but I doubt he will be easy on it. I still have a house rented in Evarts if anyone needs a place to crash. All are welcome. Sorry Carwash for the JAB, I couldn't resist.:)

good meeting you this weekend kasey, can definitely say i've never seen anyone beat on a rig the way you did for a shakedown run. your truck is definitely amazing. i had a ball, sorry i had to cut out friday night, wanted to get home so i could take the 2 year old out for her first time trick or treating saturday. unfortunately, she got sick today, so i couldn't take her anyways. thursdays wheeling was awesome, broke a tranny mount, brake caliper, and popped the caps on a front 60 shaft, didn't hurt the shaft though. ran lots of trails, did railbed's waterfall like 4 times over the weekend, had it on 2 wheels in middle rockgarden friday night, and on 1 wheel coming down lower rock garden somehow on friday night too. the rain sucked on friday, made the easy trails almost impassible, and was cold as hell in an open top rig. butch has the good pics of my rig, i forgot to format the new memory card for my camera before i left. i'll try and post whatever pics i can when he gets back, he has lots of me and boomhauer. boomhauer's rig worked awesome too. can't wait to wheel with ya'll again.

Good meeting you guy's too. I was wondering what happened to you Saturday, but I can definitely understand the kid's/family thing. They are only little for a little while, and it seems as though I missed more than I should have with mine. I did manage to break the truck Saturday evening, though not the rear. Pulled a heim out of the solid radius arm on the front and rolled the front diff down and broke the end of the driveshaft slip yoke. Limped out with a ratchet strap and 2wd. Good times though.

see you guys saw gary and eric down there, they are locals too. gary sold the red toy for $2500 down there, he dropped 2 cylinders in his tow rig on the way down, and didn't want to have to drag it home, so he sold it to buy a new motor for the tow rig. a shame, he's been building that rig for the last 5 or 6 years, it worked awesome. brad, you may remember it when it used to be white the first time we went to slade with you. he rolled it going down the main trail on a the way to a cave. then he had a tree fall over on it on widowmaker. frank bought it, and broke an axle within 2 hours of getting it on the trails (gary didn't have a problem beating the **** out of it all weekend long). eric, with the buggy is selling it now too to go back to a streetable jeep.

butch's new jeep he traded the rockwelled juggy for after it's first ride. he can't get over how nice it is to ride in heat with a top again, and not have to be the first in to try all the hard ****, now he's just a retired guy trailriding, and lending a hand whenever he can.
Don't forget about the tools, a winch, the knowledge to use both if needed, the cooler and a box of cheezits.
I would still ride with Butch any day... Although he still trailers the new one... If he ever got stuck somewhere, I do believe that I would drive an empty trailer to his location if needed... just about anywhere east of the Mississippi.

first part was covered in the lending a hand whenever he can, and i don't think there's anyone thats met him that wouldn't take a trailer to him anywhere he needed it, hell, i think most people owe him that!:beers: someday i hope to be the same way.
