Sway away racerunner 2.0x18 or Fox2.0x18 which is the best shock I`m building a single seat toy axled buggy with chevy v6,tf 904 ,Klune, dana 300.So it should be pretty light weight.Any input is appreciated
Thanks Jeff
I haven't used either so I can't comment on that, but IMHO 18s are too much shock for a small toy axled rig.

we have used both...they both seem to work really well...i like the racerunners because they have a thread on cap that protects the valve... but as far as function i dont think one is any better than the other..

4cyl XJ's, probably other random stuff...they bolt up to the 3x00 series gm 60* motors

I'm sure he's referring to there unpredictable body roll and unloading that necessitates a sway bar on atleast one end of your rig... especially on a pig like Mikes.
I've been in two buggies with air shocks and hated how they performed in both. There cheap , that's a plus and I've heard they can work pretty good in light/little rigs.

i use fox 2.0 in the rear and they work well. the front has leaf springs so that keeps the body roll down.

i like saw, had 3 sets. never had fox though. id say threr all the same.
id be curious to see how you plan on getting 18 inches of travel from a narrow toy axle...i had 16's and had to limit it to 14 in the front, even with a narrow single seater and spacers, a tire still rubbed. post up a build pic, for sure.

I have 16" sway a ways with toy axles. It's very hard to get that much flex out of the front end. I would suggest 14" in the front. I've had good luck with the air shocks just have to play with the oil levels until your happy.

if you put some thought and design your suspension correctly, air shocks wont be a prob on your light rig. mine was a joy to drive- would flex awesome but could corner on quad trails at 30 mph.
a hacked suspension design can make your truck very unpredictable.

unpredictable, hell i can predict every time mine is going to lean, everytime i try to turn, and everytime i get on the slightest incline, the thing is going to damn near fall over.
i like them for the ease of packaging, ease of adjusting, but hate the body roll they cause. i can't wait to get a swaybar back on mine.

Air shocks can take alot of tuning..when i first installed mine, i wanted to roll it of the side of a mountain, but after a lot of tuning i loved them.. they are definatly not a bolt in and go part..if you dont like the way they perform, tune them more...

Thick oil and a sway bar made a HUGE diffrence for mine. I hated them so much before that, that I was ready to go back to leaf springs lol

Coilovers good for jumping and heavy rigs and if an airshock fails it is down to the ground! Airshocks are cheaper and easier to make fit and work overall.
