Glad you can join us on the 4th, Robert... To be honest ,I was worried about me wheeling two back to back Big Rock weekends. Then heading to Harlan for four days.Heck, now I should have no problem finishing my roll cage in time for the Harlan trip.

Lisa ,thanks for the FYI

We had a dozer working last weekend, and he reworked the entire right side trail (along the creek), and Sleepy Hollow!
We will also have our newly redesigned T-shirts and new stickers. The weather looks to be PERFECT!

Yep, we shoot for opening at nine. I'm usually early, but somebody's usually late, so we hit the trails when we hit the trails, and not a moment sooner. :D

Nick, I did manage to get the GPS fired up tonight, so I'll have it Satiddy.

Will anybody recognize "Widowmaker" when and if they see it?

Theres alot of metal and plastic pieces at the bottom of both widowmaker and widowmaker 2. I conquered it in the rain with a YFZ450 yamaha and truggy but my jeep would make the name live up to its self.

All you need is a couple of $20 tow hooks; You've even got a big fancy frame to bolt em to!

I've been searching for pics or vids of widowmaker, and finding bupkis.

A few guys claim to have done it on quads and the like, but I guess getting my daily driver up it would be, um, noteworthy? Optimistic? Friggin insane? Or just stupid?

Can't wait to see it...

I'm gonna try to make it but we just had a baby on Tuesday so not sure if I can sneak away. I drove my Jeep up one of the hills at Widowmaker earlier this year. There is a couple different ways up. It was long and steep but fairly smooth. Shouldn't be a problem unless it's wet. There are some really good trails on that side of the park.

Thanks. I'm out. Little one is back in the hospital. Nothing major. Just needs a dosage of UV light. If you stay along the left side of the big creek we played in you will eventually come to that hill. It's past where the Tacoma broke. Have fun. Catch ya next time.

You all bring up a great point....Most wheelers start with their daily driver. The only way to get experiece, is to get out there and do it..I've stressed out, and at the same time learned more from extreme wheelers and their well built riggs. So, just join in.I promise, we will show you a good time....

By the time we got all the doors off and stacked on my trailer, it looked like a flea market...

So we all got out to watch...

And we were off again.

Here I'm missing a bunch of pics. I buried mine up to the rockers, trying to help some kid on a quad. Nick busted a D30 shaft, too, so we took turns running up and down "Jeep Hill" while he changed it.

We finally made our way back to the gnarley creekbed/hillclimb that Nick has dubbed "Bypass." It was rough enough that I didn't get a chance for any pics, til this group shot of the ones who made it:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb201/rmhull/BR100904/BR15.jpg

Coming back down was gutentite, especially for Tom's MJ

And finally up to the lookout, for another pretty poser shot...

Thanx Comanchedude for saving my ass on the way home, would not have made it the rest of the way without your help..!! Hope U made it home on time..

Sorry I stole your bottle jack Robert (or tried too), if it wasn't for my 2nd blowout I'd prolly still have it..

I had no fluid left in my X-fer case, may have boiled out from making the viscus coupler angry, not a drop came out when I pulled the drain plug.

Gonna dump the 6 BFGs I have left as I lost all faith in them.

I'm gonna be down for a while, have to find out why my front gears pop too (mostly in reverse), everything looked fine and no metal came out when I changed the gear oil so bearings may be worn or..??

Big Rock kicked my ass hard, I had a blast, definitely in my top 3 places to wheel.. :D

Sorry about your tire luck, Jer.

I've split one BFG sidewall in four years of wheeling, and Sams gave me a new KM2 to to replace it. The "2" is supposed to be a lot tougher, I'll get a whole set when I can afford em, tax return maybe.

What happened on the way home? Just the Tcase?

Pulling the stuff off the GPS this morning, it looks like Widowmaker climbs about 175 feet, in less than a hundred yards.

I'm glad I did it, but I still don't think I'll do it again!

It's all part of the hobby man, I had allot of fun and that's what matters most, it's not my DD so can set for a while.

My TC was pissed off cuz of different sized tires all around, the VC heated up then locked both diffs at same RPM (all wheel drive sux), had to remove my front DS to get home and I didn't have the proper tools to do it, Tom saved me a long walk home for sure.

I got my BFGs off Craigslist so have no warranty, I only paid like 250 bux for the 4 so was a good deal as they have allot of tread left. I rolled 32" BFG Mud terrains from brand new and not had that problem, still have them in the basement but pretty bald now. I poked a hole in one rolling over a metal fence post but other than that those 32s held up great.

Thanks for the offer man but I hate to put other people out like that, I have to be seconds from death before I ask for help unfortunately.

The guy I do some work for has a car hauler and I may just borrow it for wheeling trips from now on. My rig is all junk and truthfully I've been lucky to get from point A to point B and back since I switched over to that ZJ, the woman that had it before I got it off Ebay knew nothing about preventative maintenance, it was ready for the junkyard way back then.

The official reason was to satisfy the insurance companies, I think the unspoken goal was to limit the Haspin-style, barn-built jalopies.

If you showed in something really obnoxious, it might draw attention.

But no, he doesn't check for insurance cards.
