ok so this is another electrical problem ive been having wiht the tj. the switch controlling the blower does not work we installed a new switch and still nothin. dad hard wired the blower and the blower works fine. im not sure if the heat switch is the same way seeing how it never blows out hot heat, so maybe that whole climate control is jacked or i have a bad heater core. need ideas on how to fix this. i was thinking about buying a whole dash harness off of ebay and installing along wiht a new heater core and seeing what happened

You need a blower motor resistor more likely than not. It's right beside the blower motor under the passenger side dash. Should be a $15-20 part.:beers:

That is if I read what you wrote correctly...

Right now you are getting no air out of the vents right?

Once you get that figured out, then work on the heat issue. ;)

yea im not gettin anything out of the switches but it is hard wired right now to a switch. im goin to have to dig more into it when i get back from japan in a few months. i was thinkin of just pullin the dash and seeing what the entire harness looked like

check the wires at the blower resister. chry/jeep has an issue with the wiring and it can and will burn up at the resister and they sell new wires to aid in the repair. just a note when a blower resister goes bad it usually still has high speed because that is straight 12 volts.

My 2000 TJ had the wires a little melted where the wiring harness plug connects to the blower switch. Bad connections.

i asked dad about the resistor yeserday since im not home and he said he changed that awhile back but the wires have never been looked at.

and then as far as not getting hot air, could be a problem behind the dash or a heater core. cause as far as i kno none of the switches work
