i was wondering if it matters how i place my shocks ive seen some buggys with them straight up from the axle then some tilted foward ive never messed with any of this before but figured the 4 link out with alot of help from carwash there fox 2.0 16 inch goin on the rear samurai i am wanting to do it right and not spend the money on these shocks again
what are the do's and dont's of air shocks

As I understand, with standard shocks you are to mount them at a 90 degree angle to the lower control arm on a 4 link. I am not sure if air shocks would be any different, but I would guess not.

does anyone know how to set the shocks up what oil do i use how much air or does it really matter jus make it sit level and ride ? thanks in advance steven :thumbup:

Trail gear uses 370cc of shock oil on their 16" air shocks. And yeah you just adjust the psi to get your ride height. On a samurai you will probably need about 200psi.

We use fork oil in ours. Get it at a dirtbike shop

Set the shocks up so they are 90 degrees to the LCAs(when viewed from the side) at full bump. If you put them 90 degrees at ride height, then your control arms basically have a "camming" effect and the shocks will have LESS dampening as it gets closer to bottoming out...


As far as when viewed from the front, that depends on a lot of how much straight line vs crawling you'll be doing. I'd just angle them inwards a bit wherever they fit best.

ok i got them mounted today and tried to let some nitrogen out and accidently let to much out so where can i get these filled at any ideas in the nky area i know tire discounters has nitrogen but can they put 180psi in them and be able to read it on a gauge. i read somewhere it has to be high compression nitrogen is that even the same stuff ??? thanks for the help in advance steven :thumbup:

If u know any hvac guys we ussually carry nitrogen... If your in my neck of the woods I can swing by and fill ya up.
