Alright webwheelers, time to get out from behind the keyboard and see a bad ass buggy take a shot at DTOR's $1500 prize on the bounty trails.
The Team at DTOR has created 3 trails that have yet to be conquered consecutively in one day, and one of the baddest rigs (called "Showtime") in the Southeast is coming to take a crack at em.
454LSX. 43" TSL SX's, 200ft of DOM.
Bring your 4x4 and a camera. This is something you dont want to miss.

Any decent video of these unmakable hills yet..?
I'll also say I'm pretty jealous of TC..he's spent like $500K of his families money in the last 5-7 years on rigs he beats like rented midgets.

That's why I'm not impressed... Pretty much anybody could have a high dollar "unbreakable" rig handed to them and beat the hell out of it... Meanwhile having a groupie follow them with a camera...

Give him a sami and see hit get up it!!! now that would be a site to see... I have seen alot of his vids buy his groupie MADRAM11 on youtube..he just love to roll and filp everything he drives, he did a RZR 2 or 3 times before he broke it...
I guess you would try anything if you know it would not brake...or have deep pockets to fix it...

Probably not. There is one floating around of Todd making one of the hills earlier this summer. It's on DTOR's facebook page about two months ago He's the only one thats been up it yet but couldn't get up the second one. His 105" wheelbase just wasn't going to cut it. I, for one, think Tim's buggy is capable of making all three. We'll see how it goes.

He has driving skills and alot of nutz or someting as well for attempting some of the climbs.

so you think 130" wb would it, he loves to bounce up stuff, really let him drive a stock sami and see him do it... then call them driving skills
just really want to seem him drive something other than a 100k rig and make stuff then you can call it some skill...
not really knocking on him just saying...
race10
10-13-2011, 07:56 AM
I think the quality and capability of the rig comes in to play a lot but let's face it it dose take some skill and pure dumb luck to do some of the stuff he does and save some of the stuff he doesn't. And if I had the money I'd be doing the same think or worse. so you think 130" wb would it, he loves to bounce up stuff, really let him drive a stock sami and see him do it... then call them driving skills
just really want to seem him drive something other than a 100k rig and make stuff then you can call it some skill...

Why does anyone give a **** what he drives or where his money comes from? Of course a stock samurai isn't going to do the stuff that he does, but his buggies wouldn't be any fun at Haspin. Thats like saying John Force wouldn't have got to where he is if he drag raced a yugo:rolleyes: And to say he doesn't have driving skills or to question his skills shows how insecure people are with their own abilities. The vehicle doesn't make the driver, the driver makes the vehicle....
With that said I'm going to try to get there early so i can hold his weiner for his first piss of the day:cheerleader:

You guys crack me up. Riddle me this, batman. What is the difference between TC and his buggy making it up nearly impossible obstacles, Shannon Campbell being undefeatable @ KOH multiple years in a row, or the champs of WEROCK taking the trophies each year?
Not a damn thing. It takes money, and driving skill. Period.
So back to my OP, this is not an invite to like or dislike TC, it is an invite to see a very very well-make buggy attempt the 3 bounty trails @ DTOR. I know there are many one here that support DTOR, so why not get out and enjoy a really nice saturday and also get to see a good show?

geez, finally someone with some sense.

Just thought I'd quote this since that local park still has it's 15 hundo and TC's got a broken RCV.
It was a great show today. That Showtime buggy has amazing fabrication, a mean motor, and get's it done, but that's second only to TC's driving, and his humility. Talk about a stand up guy! Not once did he brag, show arrogance, or pride. The dude likes to 4wheel, and does it well.
If you missed it today, stay tuned because he's wanting to come back to DTOR and try it again.

Weak hill...? If timmy is coming back I'd believe he thinks they aren't that easy. Most of the climbs I've seen him do on YouTube are relatively mundane for the biggest part of the run (all things being relative here) and one section that is a booger. A water fall, a ridge, a cut, or something that challenges wheelbase, grip, width, or something that every buggy cannot compensate for. Its rare (for me) to see a climb with multiple hard-fought obstacles throughout the run. So...these are short with no build up to the PITB section and essentially nothing after the PITB section. If they were indeed 'weak' then any number of buggies could have done it by now because not everyone that's tried them have been folks with a rig but no skills or someone with skills, but not the rig to match.
this one could probably be filed under the discrimination I hear about the local ORV parks in general - 'not enough rock' or 'too much dirt and mud'. My boys have had me watch virtually every TC YouTube video and the majority of 'awesome' runs were not on clean rocks with no dirt or mud and most are not 100yd rough-as-a-cob climbs. Most of the waterfall section vids are about the same size as the DTOR obstacles. I'm an armchair wannabe though so my opinion isn't worth .02.

Guess I am just thinking of the long ones where 8-10 rolls would be a minimum if things went wrong. Not one or two roll-overs. Guess he must have enjoyed them as it sounds he is coming back and the next time I will be there. May inspire me to build a full blown buggy.
dougg01
10-17-2011, 03:33 PM
Those climbs where the witch obstacle is at the top and toppling off it will likely send you end-over-end a few times tends to break a LOT of stuff and has the potential to cause some serious trauma to the driver. Looks cool, but a few of those and the old spine might not let the operator keep wheeling. That's for youngin's (like we used to be) that don't know any better and can take a bangin' and still get up and walk the next day.

The 1 hill/creekbank that he climbed, I only posted a video of him making it. I have 15-20min. or more video of him not making it. With that being said it wasnt as easy as it looks on the video. It took him 20 or 30 tries to make it.

That rocks. They make some good videos.
He definitely epitomizes the 'Southern Wheeling' creedo of if it doesn't make it 'hit the throttle harder'. That said, he has good sense of orientation and generally seems to wheel safe and smart (for the rigs he has). He seems to be able to get himself out of trouble more times than most, but ending up on your lid appears to be just part of the job. That rig is just plain nuts in its execution, quality, and over-the-top packaging. 180deg headers...!!!! Lots of spit and polish on that thing too. Wonder if that is a trend we're going to be seeing more of with buggies. I'd prefer a move to rigs that resemble some make or model, even if its' done with tube and plate. Nostalgia F/C has more of a rabid and dedicated following that TF F/C because fans identify with the looks of the car and don't identify with some sillouette thingy.
Imagine TC driving a monster truck in freestyle competitions...? It might work better if they replace the cars with boulders though.

Personally, I'd enjoy it more if it were one of my buddies giving it a shot. Make it or not We would have a cold one and have good memories!!!
I give him props for trying and I think he will make it for the bounty. I want to see other people trying to give a good comparison. My opinion is someone will do it with a surprisingly lesser rig. I think it is just a combination of the conditions and what is working that day. Other vids I've seen of him were pretty amazing and with more danger so I think this it eating at him that it didn't work out. The next visit will be the best. I'd like to see it but I also want to see some other try.
