I live just outside of Columbus and our club is based out of there, and haven't heard anything about this place for years. The last I heard was the owner of the land had a falling out with promoters of the rock crawl events.

I too had a blast the one and only time I went.
I wish they would have put the year on the trophy.
Was 2003 or 2004 i think
pic sux, is a carved clear plastic thing
It was a good event the couple times I went, the food vendor sucked. I didn't care for the chines food that was about the only thing they had. There weren't many spectators there which was nice to watch, and the advertising of the events sucked. There was a lot of money spent on the course to be dumped like it was.
I was working in Columbus at the time and saw some rigs going up 71 on a Friday night. I checked their web sit and sure enough an event was scheduled. Not a word on any of the forums to promote the event. I think Dustin Webster hosted the last event.

It all depends on what you are in to and personal preference, but about 5-6 guys from our club went to one of the events. We all got bored after about the first hour and stopped watching. Just never been into the rockcrawling comps where they spend what seems like 10 minutes to go 5 feet.
I agree with the lack of advertisement. Our club (50+ members) even approached them with interest in getting involved and maybe volunteering at the events. They never really got back with us and didn't even try to sell the event. You would think they would try to tap into the off-road clubs at least for advertisement purposes.

The entire facility is about the size of a football field, so not that big.
Go to Mapquest and type in this address:
2101 Koebel Road, Columbus, OH and look at the satellite image. The facility is just to the South and West (left and slightly down) from that address...you can't miss it.
It's 45 minutes away from me and not sure if I would have bothered taking my rig there even if it were free. I estimate about 30 minutes of play time for a full bodied trail rig that you didn't want trashed or even had a chance. As you can tell by the pictures above most fo the obstacles are basically vertical climbs and descents and narrow ridges. I'm not a hardcore rock crawler or anything, but also don't think the Widowmaker Trail down at Slade is that big of a deal...definitely technical and somewhat difficult but we run through it in an hour and head to another trail.

I work right beside this place, it's still there.
We tried to rent it for a weekend, they wanted $1000 min. for ten rigs then $100 per rig after that, then when it came to the lliability waiver their lawyer said no.
