I can't see $10K in parts let alone $60K!
He is like me, he doesn't want to sell his CJ.

If my wife read a add I posted and it said I had spent $60K on a Jeep she'd kill me in my sleep with a pick-axe!

First of all I will say that $35k asking price is crazy for this vehicle....and second I will say that it is possible he spent $60k on the Jeep (which is even crazier). Years ago we had an older guy in our club with a restored CJ-7 very similar to this setup except it had a limited slip in the front and Detroit in the rear, and a built 360. He never did tell me exactly how much he had in it, but did make the comment a few time he could have bought a new H1 Hummer instead.
The big key is the comment that it was professionally restored which leads me to believe a shop did all the work. That can lead to a very hefty labor bill, then start adding up the parts. $5k for the body, $2k frame, $2.5k for engine, and I know people can drop $1k on a D30:eek:

OMG!!!!! They saw him coming a mile away!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAaaaaaaaaa....
No words can..... OMG.....
:D
I have had my CJ for 33 years now and I have most of the receipts for everything that was bought for it, except for the steel for things I have made. I have never added them up because I don't want to know. The receipts are there, if the wife wanted to add them up,which I don't think she will, but something that could happen.
Just saying, but maybe he is anal and had to keep a running total. I would put the price out of the ball park also. After almost 32 years of being married, two kids and the wife and I eloped in the CJ. She knows it isn't going anywhere and doesn't even bother dropping hints anymore. My youngest daughter has her eye on it so my toys always have a two to one vote now.
Or the guy could be a retard because there is a fool born everyday and we all would drop a load if he got that price.:beers:

Drop a CJ off at Roy's Performance Off Road to be restored / fully modified for trail use and see what your bill comes to. It's not hard to hit $40k+ in a hurry if you're paying $100/hr for custom labor. Hell, I'm sure he has $10k tied up in the axles alone.
I've got a RARE '91 XJ (only year they were made) I'll let go for ten grand. Cash only please.;)
