1979 Ford F250 Dana 60 front & rear, NP435, NP205, 4.10 gears
This is a complete truck minus a bed. I bought it locally (well about 50 miles away) on 4-14-2012. The truck had been sitting in a guy’s barn for the past five years. It ran when parked.
If it doesn’t sell (whole) in a few days, I’m going to take the grille, steering parts, and a few interior bits, sell the axles for $999 or $1099, and scrap the rest.
The sum of the parts on this truck are worth more to most people than the entire truck as a whole, but I’d rather not part it out and I’m not big into scrapping. I’d prefer to sell it complete for $1199 vs. parting it out for more $$. I’ve had many of these trucks and can tell you what the realistic value for the parts are. These would be options for the buyer of this pile:
Option 1—Part it out.
$1000 Dana 60 front w/ 4.10 gears
$100 Dana 60 rear with 4.10 gears
$150 Steering box (these are hard to come by—only used for two years).
$50 Steering shaft from column to box—again, only used two years .
$200 NP435 w/ big block bell housing & shifter
$100 NP205 T-case w/ all adapters & shifter
$100 (4) matching crappy 33” tires on 16.5 wheels
$300 400 cubic inch engine
$100 Complete grille shell and grille that’s in good shape
$75 Plastic side fuel tank with sender—it won’t rust. ;)
$50 Headliner
$75 Interior door panels
$75 Good windshield—all glass is good.
$100 Scrap the rest
Option 2—Remove the axles for the rig you are building & scrap the rest for $400-ish.
Option 3—Get it running, weld the rear, throw a cheap locker in the front, add 38” tires & have a beefy wheeler for cheap—this is what I did in 2003 with Buford—and it’s still kicking eight years later.
Pictures: All pictures were taken on 4-13-2012.
Trades: I doubt it, but feel free to ask.
Price: $1099 to $1299 depending on what you want.
$1299 for everything.
$1199 for everything minus the grille assembly
$1099 for everything minus the grille, steering box & shaft & door panels.
