Unfortunately, I can't go to Southern Shine, so I was thinking about hitting up some place closer, probably DTOR or Big Rock. Just throwing it out there.

As bad as I want to do Harlan, doesn't look like funds will permit such adventures. So I'm Down for a closer run. Preferably not haspin

Well, I will be in a RZR, so I'm not doing any major crawling. I don't want to do Haspin either. Big Rock sounds pretty good.

Did you ever make it to deep run for your shake down Frankensteinxj?

cincygman
05-13-2012, 02:08 PM
I might be with you Jeff. these last two weeks have not gone as planned. So a closer ride would work better for me too unless something really good shakes loose work wise......

Yeah we took my dads rig and a couple 4wheelers.

it was a really good time. I posted a few pics in the thread I had about it.

Not gonna make the Zoe run so I might be in for a big rock run. Possibly camp?

tjrider
05-13-2012, 08:14 PM
Yeah Gary, it'll be tough dropping $250 for fuel plus food and entry fees. I really want see these bounty hills

cincygman
05-14-2012, 07:55 AM
The Bounty Hills at Dirty Turtle were not that impressive to me. Just some straight up out of the creek runs. Not that my rig could climb them, I've just seen longer steep climbs that's all.

tjrider
05-20-2012, 11:29 AM
The turtle is @ 20 min past the speedway. I'm planning to head out sat morning if anyone wants to convoy. Gary might be with me too. Aiada....mattnati... you in? Lets put our party pants on fellas

cincygman
05-21-2012, 12:14 AM
Its a 1-1/2 hr trip either way for me. If more peeps going to the Rock, I'm in for that. The Zip Lines do look inviting and maybe a nice way to cool down after a couple hours of wheeling the cager :D So.... go Saturday, camp, come back Sunday?

tjrider
05-21-2012, 07:12 AM

So Big Rock or Turtle and what time? I'm about the same as gman, takes me 1.5hr any way I go to Big Rock, never been to Turtle but it sounds like its a bit farther. I've got church on Sunday so I'll be heading back saturday afternoon/evening.

This weekend???

Yes this weekend Sat. May 26th, Sun. 27th.

Tony, its cool, do your bible study and head on out. I'm sure a night ride will be in order so there will be plenty of wheeling to do :D You still have my number? Give me a call if you want or we will see ya sometime Sat. I will save ya a spot to set up camp.

gyger222, I applaud your commitment to church on Sun. I rarely ever miss but I believe God gave us this beautiful creation to enjoy and the vehicles to enjoy it. So this is my time to do it. Tony can share what he has been learning in his bible study Sun. morning by the camp fire. There really is nothing like sitting by the fire, hearing Gods word. :)

Mattnati, You up for it?

AidaJK11, How about you?

For those going Sat. We will meet at Big Rock in the parking lot 9:00 am, get signed in and go from there.

The earlier the better I say. Looks like its going to be hot on Saturday. Im off the rt 42 exit so I'm not going to head back toward fairfield. If you guys are taking 275 around then I'll wait till you guys pass by and follow.

gman, I'm too afraid to play sports or do my hobbies on Sunday. The jeep will brake down or I'll blow my knee out or something. It keeps me out of trouble at least.

It's not that bad even when its a bit wet. I drove right up it in my TJ locked in the front and limited slip in the rear.

Im not sure about you and Gary but I'm driving there and hopefully home. I'm not hitting anything hard lol. Also since brokeagain is bringing his kids I'd say he'll be taking it easy as well.

Last night after church I took my wife and boy up into the woods behind the church. Now she and the boy want to go too Saturday also. I'm not telling them other women and kids are going or they'd be all over it.

Yeah, that thing was A BEAST!!! but I like my Grand :D We had a great time. Tony lived up to his screen name ;-) my friend from church broke a berfield on the tires up front :( Jeff overheated the TJ..........
The new trails are great. as long as its dry they will be fun. When they are wet it will be interesting.......... We were out for all most 6 hours yesterday and didn't repeat any trails I don't think so anyway :) looking forward to going back and doing some more exploring.
As for pictures, since I didn't bring a camera man/women, I don't have very many. Took some video but now I have to go through it and upload it. Quality isn't that good so new video camera on the list of wheel-n expenses. :D
