How are you guys getting away with spending New Years eve at BR and not with your family. No way I'd get away with that...

Our kids are all out and doing their own thing, we don't go out and party so might as well camp out. :)

itbrokeagain 12-11-2012 06:52 PM

There is a chance that I am out. Hopefully I can make all my repairs before that

itbrokeagain 12-11-2012 07:47 PM

Lost the bolts on that steering arm connected to the bottom of the knuckle. Broke one off. Ordering new cone washers tomorrow from cdan or Sam Lowe tomorrow and will see what I can do

This was tonight. I have been good about checking them until tonight. Forgot aboutbit and I lost them. It was not pretty took about an hour to get it on the trailer.

Dam that sucks... Do you have to work on it outside ?
Let me know if u need anything...

:beers:

itbrokeagain 12-12-2012 10:06 AM

Can't get it off the trailer so outside it is. Hopefully it goes together well. Cone washers should be here by the end of the week.

WrenchMonkey 12-12-2012 03:15 PM

So you've been retightening those bolts constantly since the Tour?

May try some locktite this time...

:beers:

itbrokeagain 12-12-2012 03:46 PM

Those are studs with nuts. I put red loctite on the nuts and that seem to fix it. This time the studs backed out. I'm going to replace them with bolts

Weld the studs all up and smear some JB weld on it and call it done! :beers:

itbrokeagain 12-12-2012 04:21 PM

Tapatalk says I have exceeded my limit on picture posting I wish I could post up some pictures of this. 2 of the 4 studs have snapped off inside the knuckle. I guess they backed out a little bit and got loose. The brackets on the bottom of the knuckle use cone washers to locate them. I have new washers coming. Hopefully I can weld nuts to the broken of studs Loctite some bolts tightened it all up and be done with it

gothodgie 12-12-2012 05:55 PM

the thing i think is weird is it seems to only be the 80 front ends that do it...

itbrokeagain 12-12-2012 06:22 PM

I never really looked at my 62 but are the rest of them set up this way?
It may have something to do with the 80's being awd
