So the right rear window rolls down fine, and halfway back up.
Then it slows, then crawls, then stops about 2" from closed. If you hold the button and push the glass, it'll close all the way. Anybody wanna guess whether it's just a weak motor that no longer has the strength to lift the glass? Or the whole regulator assembly that's binding up? The motor is $35 in stock. The regulator is $110 special order... |
I believe the third rule of shade tree mechanics is that it will be the more expensive part... but you'll probably buy the motor first anyway...:D

My old body style Chevy did the same thing. It was the assembly. I found out after I did the motor first.
|
Slap some vaseline around the outer window channels to help the window travel easier. Or throw a rock through the window and then it will be open all the way.

pull panel and look at it in action. its most likely the motor is shot. you may be able to remove motor and then lift and lower by hand if its smooth and not binding just replace motor, if its rough or binds, sticks and is hard to operate ya need the assembly ..
and here is the whole deal from amazon $54.00 shipped OEM #15135971, Partslink #GM1551114 http://www.amazon.com/POWER-WINDOW-R...r+window+motor |
So what did you buy? Link is dead.
If the regulator is like the 1 Tom pictured, they go out frequently. I have done the drivers door 2x in 7 years from frayed cables. Thankfully, O'reillys had lifetime warranty on the assembly. |
