I hear you bud.

Still waiting on the battery boxes to show up but I splurged a little on the fuel cell. New artec hold down brackets.

Passenger side.......what a mess. There is the fuse box-cruise control-a/c lines-hell there is even a battery temp sensor in the tray I have to figure out what to do with.

All the crap loose and out of the way

cmartin 03-31-2014 12:38 PM

All fenders are reboxed and painted.

Pass side engine bay. I plan on a high amp junction box for the hot leads.

And some fun stuff begins

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/31/a4enuvu4.jpg

Started laying out the winch plate and how to mount it. All the exo cage will tie in at the bumper and stinger in front.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/31/6a4a6umy.jpg

Also got all the steering lines made at a local shop. Great prices and good people. Eagle equipment in franklin.

That winch plate looks like it sits kinda low but i guess your rig sits a lot higher than mine. My winch plate will be even with the top of the bumper cover to maintain as much approach angle as possible. I might have it mounted by June if I'm lucky......

Still a real good looking build, hope we can get the twins together sometime this year?

cmartin 04-19-2014 09:16 PM

The way I plated the frame in front the plate sits even with the bottom of the frame. I originally did it that way so the radiator wouldn't be blocked by the winch. I haven't committed to the winch mount yet. I am going to build the exo around it and see how it goes.

We will definitely get together for some ZJ wheeling. I hope to have it finished in June

The Easter Bunny came early. He ordered me parts earlier this week. Hahahaha

The fuel rail adapter fitting is
Russell efi push on 5/16" the sending unit end is ⅜". It was out of stock and will be here around Wednesday

It looks purdy on there

Been a long time since an update. The wife got her new house and we close on thurs. So guess what stopped getting my time. Yep the build. With that being said.

Got the fuel cell mounted and plumbed for the most part. Had to wait on the sending unit fitting for 3 weeks.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/17/ejapunav.jpg

Also decided to go all stainless braided for the brake lines from the valve to the axle side t. A lot easier to run.

I doubt it [emoji24] once I get all that stuff done I have shocks and drive shafts before it will be mobile at the bare minimum. So I wish chicken fry. Snow ball run will probably be a stretch. But if it's done, full interior with heated seats will definitely be an upgrade from the open cj5. Hahaha

cmartin 10-27-2014 08:29 PM

^^^^^^^thanks^^^^^ it seems like once you get one thing done you realize there are two more that you need to do.

Definitely an upgrade:applause: Hope to see it on the trails soon. Looks great.

Got it done sooner than I thought. Hope I fit inside it. HahHahah [emoji12]

I know it was already on the Internet but we had an extra pumpkin and I was feeling creative.

cmartin 11-03-2014 11:04 PM

Made a really big dent in the list. This weekend. Hydro lines ran and mounted. Fuel line finished and mounted. Brake lines ran and secured from prop valve to axle T.

Also got the headlights put on. The old headlight grill support was broken and when I took it off to mount the cooler it broke in half.

If I don't say so it is looking good and like a jeep again. I feel better just having the grill and lights on

cmartin 11-29-2014 06:14 PM

Got the rock sliders up on stands

Front stand off mount

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...e58bdd0679.jpg

Front two are straight. 3 and 4 mounts needed bent

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...8514167e6c.jpg

All the bars

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...eb107bcff5.jpg

Hope to have them mocked up and welded by tomorrow night

cmartin 12-03-2014 11:19 PM

Got a lot done this past weekend. Prepping the slider.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...51aeb6e983.jpg

Finish welded the tube to the slider and primed and painted

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...1b67b3fe9d.jpg

cmartin 12-03-2014 11:22 PM

Went with running the battery cables from rear cargo area to engine bar thru frame. Ran two 1/0 wires sleeved in 5/8 heater hose

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...4efccfae10.jpg

Unknown pain in the a$$ job this became. The unibody and dog house were two separate pieces. Had to cut an access hole in floor and cut away some metal so we could feed it from one to the other.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...9dca575ef1.jpg

Flipped back up part of the cut out. Will cover with a piece of sheet metal and rtv

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...01746d64ed.jpg

cmartin 01-20-2015 08:13 PM

Got some fluid for my steering today.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...3a6bb5eecd.jpg

got measurements on hard break lines too. Hope to start this thing up in a week or 2. [emoji120]

cmartin 01-25-2015 11:11 AM

Got my new battery yesterday. Optima 34/78. Mounted one of the artec boxes I got off mall crawlin. The cargo area is finished minus wiring up the battery.

Thanks. I thought it was worth it overall. It made it look cleaner and more finished. Way better than some straps that I would have made. Haha
