Harlan October 9th - 11th - "Date change"
 

There is no better way to start the month of October with the First weekend at Harlan beating on your Rig...

This may be my last trip for a while so i can fix my rig and financially recover from surprise issues...



Who is in with me ?

Our group will be down fri-mon. Staying on putney side in the big cabin. Hope to meet some new people.

I was just reminded by my boy that this is his home coming weekend that he plans to attend with his girlfriend. I made alot of plans and promises that I have to keep.

So I hate and I mean really hate to say that I am out of this trip.:at-wits'end:

If you all can't go due to lack of Rigs maybe it's possible that we could reschedule ?? Let me Know if you all still plan to go... I know Jim Busch is a maybe due to his work schedule at the moment.

As my toys said a group of our folks will be there so anyone here wanting to go they'll be on Putney side

Two of us are going down on wednesday and riding rzr. We will leave monday.

We might have to hook up with you guys if our 3rd rig can't go. Wheeling Harlan with 2 rigs isn't a good idea. We were planning on staying at the small campground in Evarts. We will know if he can go in about a week.

I personally won't be there. They are inducing labor on this pregnant woman living with me on the 30th so I'll be doing dad stuff while everyone's in Harlan.

But my toys and the others going are a solid group that run the tough stuff. Hook up with them if you can

I think there is a wv group going to the evarts side aswell. Forget if it's high country or jeepin wv though

Got to the top of lower profanity and my steering pump died instantly. Had a spare and 1.5 hrs later it's back rolling. This is a new one for me....

That is fairly common on the late 90's and early 2000's GM trucks. I think there must have been a time when Saginaw was getting bad steel because nothing has really changed on the design of those pumps since the 70's.

The amount or Rain and fog at Harlan this weekend was insane, it made a challenging run for us

With all the Rain hitting us I was unable to take pics as I normally do...This is Grapevine, with all the rain it made it a mess.

It was definitely the wettest wheeling trip I've been on. I got to try out the extra HP of the new motor. There were a few slick hills I had it full throttle in 2nd. The ps pump I replaced the broken one with only lasted a few hours. It lost about 60% power. I'll post up some pics tomorrow.

I can't really tell because it's been 7 years since but last visit to Harlan. Is that Waffle plowing through the Lion's Den? I would like to have seen that run.

It looks like everyone had awesome fun, even in the rain.
