Hollerwood Park: Slade,KY ~ August 30th - Sept. 2nd
 

We decided we want to go and check this place out Labor day weekend, instead of heading to Rush Off-Road Park, which is what we usually do every year. So why not switch it up?!

This is 2,500 acres in and around the old Slade trails. But now, it is privately leased land, so vehicles are no longer required to be licensed and insured. That's a big deal for many of our Members.

Jeff has had a number of conversations with the guy who's running the show down there. He is very eager to have us down, and is making the investments needed to make it a premier destination. The park has a lot of potential, and this could be a great time to go check it out.

Google shows it as 142 miles from downtown Cincinnati, but since it's almost all highway, only two hours and ten minutes drive. They don't offer a daily pass, but it's $40/mo or $75/yr.

Who's in for this trip? CORE has never been here.

I'm trying to ration PTO, so I'd rather go Saturday, but I can do Friday if need be.

Discussed at the August meeting... CORE will be bringing the hamburgers that we did not use from the 4th of July cookout we were supposed to have :thumbup:

Is everyone chipping in and bringing stuff to go with burgers, ie. Chips, sides, buns, condiments.

Now that's a good question! I would assume so.

Thoughts on members bringing a small side dish with them?

I think we just have pot luck on side items.

I will see if I can get a few dozen ears of corn and some tomatoes and onions.

Everyone needs to bring their own buns for hotdogs and burgers. Unless Kevin want to buy a pack or two again???

I'd say we will have about 20-30 people there?

Does anyone have a fire pit that they could bring with them?

I was talking to some friends and they said they will charge us to buy a fire pit if we to do a fire.
