First mud drag at dirt country 4/18/09

Hope to see some new rigs out there go to www.dirtcountrymx.com for details. They have 3 mud drags and 3 truck dirt drags on the calendar for this season.

What type of trucks are usually in the dirt drags? Diesels or big blocks?

RD TRCTR 04-08-2009 09:42 AM

There's usually everything there. If it's on wheels, it'll get raced. They separate every one into classes dependent upon what's under the hood for the dirt drags and the ET's ran during the time trials for the mud drags.

Didn't realize this place was still around. Used to go there when I was in high school to watch the mud drags.....at least I assume it's the same place as it called Dirt Country in Blanchester.

99Slobra 04-08-2009 10:14 PM

hmmmmmmm. What are the times?

MudrunRandy 04-11-2009 03:18 AM

Yep Dirt Country is in Blanchester. Time trials normally start around 6 then they break down the classes and start racing around 8. It's heads up run what you brung they bring the classes down by your times. I believe it's $9 per person to get in and $20 to race. You can bring whatever alcoholic beverage you want as long as it's not in a glass container. If your racing you have to wait till your done racing to drink. Camping is included in your admittance so if you want to really do it up you can sleep there. As far as the dirt drags I cant remember what time they start probably around the same time. It's broke down by stock gas, modified gas, stock turbo manual diesel, stock turbo auto diesel, modified manual diesel, modified auto diesel, then the open anything goes, there is usually a tug a truck at the end. I've been told that this year if you want to do tug a truck you have to race as well this year. All the info is on the web site.

Cool man, thanks for coming out. Have fun camping on the 30th

4RunnerAdam 05-01-2009 10:30 PM

I'd like to come over and race my old 4Runner sometime, just for fun. Are there any certain days that are maybe like a "test and tune" that I wouldn't get in the way of the big boys? I'm sure I wouldn't do very well, I just think it would be fun to try!

The tracks...are they just straight line tracks?

RD TRCTR 05-02-2009 11:04 AM

Yep, the tracks are straight line. I think 300 feet. I have raced there many times before. Definitely tons of fun. Unfortunate for the vehicles I was in, the mud drags were their last chance prior to going on the trailer for the scrap yard...

MudrunRandy 05-03-2009 11:55 PM

As far as practicing other than event days you would need to call out there and see when or if you can practice for the dirt drags. They wipe out the pits for the mud drags after each event. The dirt drags are 300'. The 1st dirt drag is June 6th. You can get there early on that day they give everyone a lot of practice time for the dirt drags. I know a guy they let pay to take his jeep out there and practice before he went to gravelrama. The # 513-625-7350
