The worst luck ever.

Danni has it.... (cross posted from terrainstompers.)

She works for camel cigarettes doing the bar to bar surveys and giving away free cigs.

Last night at around 1:30, she got ran off the road into a retaining wall by someone crossing over lanes on a one way. He took off Evil or Very Mad

The jeep looks pretty bad, as of last night I could see these parts to be replaced.

-drag link bent
-shock was sheared(drivers side)
- all control arms were bent, and some brackets ripped off axle side
-trashed sway bar disconnect
-demolished Piaa light
-end of jeeperman bumper was crunched
-fender destroyed

and the kicker, the driveshaft was pushed into the xfer case and exploded into several pieces.

And today after work I go out to make a list an get a better look at it, and the hood is offset.
After further inspection, the frame is bent (dunno exactly where) about a half inch to the passenger side.

Body mounts are still correct and the body is straight, but the front end of the frame got a good punch to the left, leaving the grille offset of the hood.

So I have already started to get on the ball with parts, If anyone has stock suspension parts they are trying to get rid of contact me cause ill buy em, same with a decent xfer case.

And I know a local wheeler has a frame puller, but I cannot remember who, and how much it would cost to pull the front end back into spec?

Thanks,
Justin and Danni

Ps, Will get pics when its not raining, cause I know thats what you wanna see Laughing

Assuming she's okay though. That's good...

maddhatter 05-14-2009 12:54 AM

Glad every one is OK. There are far worse things in life then a auto wreck but yea it still sucks.

Redriverranger 05-14-2009 05:43 AM

Take a good look at the front axle, they are notorious for bending in that situation. I think fabricator has a frame rack.

94Dodge Truggy 05-14-2009 06:15 AM

Sounds like insurance will total it!

JET455 05-14-2009 08:11 AM

Sounds like a total? did the airbags go off?

I have a frame, control arms, sway bar, XJ D30 HP no disconnect, t-case, etc...

humpy 05-14-2009 08:29 AM

pm fabricator...he has a frame rack but not sure if he is still doin work or not...

...and Jet (Jeff? Can't remember, sorry) isn't too far from my place, and I've got the truck to get all these goodies to your place, Justin, if you need help with that...

Just holler!

Good luck!

New pics of the carnage! Kinda bent back the fender and made it look pretty ;) and able to hold a turn signal until she wants to fork over 80 bucks for tubing to make her tube fenders.

This would likely be totalled if either one of us had full coverage... our insurance policy is to have 2 extra beaters... shes rolling a buick now ;)

I did rough measurements and it looks like the axle is still straight. control arms buckled first before the bend so thats a good thing.

94Dodge Truggy 05-18-2009 12:01 PM

The inside of the 231 looks clean!

Tj_Justin 05-18-2009 12:07 PM

Much cleaner than the outsie :D

Anyone who has a 231 case they wanna sell just pm me the mileage (rough guess, not to worried about it) where your at, and the price ya want. Keep in mind i live on the west side of cincinnati.

I have 231 parts now that appear to be in good condition through inspection of newly found inspection hole ;) if anyone wants them just let me know, all kinda worthless to me now

Thanks,
Justin and Danni

Justin you can bring that one down to the garage after you guys get done with the axle swap and leave it there for a while to rebuid it. And, if you ask nicely, I might come over with my tow rig and pick it up. Does it roll?

Tj_Justin 05-18-2009 06:43 PM

Greg,

I really appreciate it, but I have plenty of room at my place to do one jeep.

between me and dave though we could not do two jeeps in either of our garage.

The offer is awesome though and I always appreciate any help I can get.

It does roll, now that both shafts are out

GT MOTORSPORTS 05-24-2009 11:41 PM

I saw this post hasnt been updated for a few days..just checking..I will donate what you need. I was hit by a drunk driver several years ago,so I feel the pain of her incident...let me know..
