LIVINGSTON RUN- lets start the going list!!

Since I couldn't make the meeting ( had to sell the Chero ) I hope the Livingston run was discussed.
I'm ready and will be rolling out in the afternoon on 05/25/07 . will be packed up and ready by Thursday night , but I have to work . So as soon as I wake up I'm rolling out . I will be bringing Aftershock151 ( Jim ) and Taylor my oldest son , Following me down will be my neighbor Jon , with his 93 YJ. I will be setting up camp on the 80 side as usual.

Post up if planning on attending!

16 days AND counting

I have been to livingston atleast 100 times. The place that core camps at (which is very nice) I have been to only once. My directions are rough. I will try and get you directions if you are really interested. You will love the terrain. And with your cherokee you will do well!

Also on this topic looks like TS has a livingston trip planned for the weekend of june 30 if anyone is interested. Especially those that have been there b4. I dont think anyone from the club has been there yet, and i sure as hell dont want to spend most of the day trying not to get lost!!

sarge 05-12-2007 12:22 AM

I don't know exactly what time I'm leaving Scot , I'm not as COOL and or ORGANIZED as Jeff. If I can't sleep when I get home from work I'd say I'll be rolling out about the same time as you, if I can get some sleep ( being the last good sleep of the week end !! :D ) I'll probably be rolling around 1:00 or 2:00 .

Fred , We'll get you some directions up soon ! I know how to get there but the last part I can't rember some of the streets .
This much I do know :

I-75 south to Ky 80 ( London Ky.)
Ky 80 West for about 4 1/2 miles
Turn right just before deli on hill ( access Rd. ) only about 100 feet long.
At stop sign Turn left ( i think this is ST. RT. 25 ??)
turn right at Motor Cross Track sign. ( can't remember the name of the road )
At Motor cross track entrance turn left onto gravel Rd. you'll pass several houses on the left going down the hill.
once at the bottom you'll cross a concrete culvert ( use caution if it is raining ) after the culvert you need to get on the skinny pedal you will have a rather tight left hand turn and then a very long grade to climb.
once at the top of the hill it will open up into a field , we will be camping on the right , as long as someone else is not there already. I have a 30 FT Tioga Motor home and has a Cinyoffroad windshield banner just look for it !!!

I'm sure someone else has some street names for you , I know Jeff or Jackmaster had ,at one time, a really good set of directions posted up.

Rustbucket 05-12-2007 03:45 AM

Well since HNH has been closed down for the weekend we have all been lookin foward to, Noone that I know has any info on Livimgston.
But from pictures I have seen, we will have just as good a time there as at HNH.
As far as camping goes is there a local camping grounds and a place for newbies to meet up with people that Know the area?

sarge 05-12-2007 05:27 AM

Are you asking about Memorial Day week end ? if so, follow the direction to the camp spot and you'll see us . it's not a camp ground , just a big open field that we have permission to camp on .
If your just going to go down with your club and not have anyone that knows the area with you be sure you don't get to far off the main trail . Livingston is not crowded anymore and it's hit or miss if you come across anyone on the trails that can tell you where and how to get around. If you and few others decide to go down sometime post up on here I'm sure someone would meet up with you and show you around.
I've never been to HNH but I can put a pay check on Livingston being better then any pay park around the Ohio area.

hnh has a 14 day extension right now.... mike

Mudstud 05-15-2007 02:01 AM

Im in. I will be ready anytime after 5:00 pm on friday. Kelly, let me know your schedule. Im looking for someone to follow down.

94Dodge Truggy 05-15-2007 08:46 AM

Hey Sarge, I will leave with you as long as you are leaving by 1pm. Traffic will be bad! Especially at 3pm. Hook the motor home up to the back of my trailer and you can sleep on the way down. :D I need to do a thourough inspection this week and find out what the hell is making a funny shake in the chassis during rough bouncing conditions. Hate to break it on the long weekend. Are you goin CW?

GPER 05-16-2007 08:14 AM

We always went in right off of exit 49 and camp at that end.

KargoMaster 05-16-2007 10:22 AM

GPER, that was the way that almost everyone used to go in... and you still can, but for folks that are driving the "mobile sheratons" down, need somewhere to setup that is a little off the beaten path, and a little farther away from the attention of the Shell station... :D

When was the last time you were down there?

And just so I don't get the KargoJack comments from Scott.... Have a great trip, wish I could go... Sounds like a great time... Be safe.

94Dodge Truggy 05-16-2007 10:30 AM

Hey Kargomaster, I have an open seat if you are interested and a barn to crash in after hours!
