Buckshots
Anyone run these tires? How do they perform?
|
are you talking about the gateway ones...i have 3 but tryn to find a forth so i havent run them yet...but there 10 ply with very aggresive tread..the size is q-78 witch is closer to a 36"
|
I ran a old set of 12-15's on a CJ I had like 25 years ago..I don't know how the Buckshot of today compares but mine back then where LOUD!..did OK off road and lasted OK.
When I say loud I mean like bias TSL loud. |
guy at work runs them on his 02 f150, has about 40k miles on them and still have great tread left keeps them rotated tho bought them from gateway

I had some q78x15 and there were taller than all of the 35 I seen. They did great and would still be running them if they make them in larger sizes. I think there is a larger size(r78 I think) that is about 37in tall.

i had them on a jeep and on some toyotas all kinds there great tire i cut the crap out of them to they hold up
|
I had the P78 on my XJ when I bought it, about 33-34".
They were great for what they were: a budget bias-ply. They gripped pretty well, rode kinda noisy, and flatspotted in the cold. I never hurt one, but I didn't beat em all that hard, either. Robert |
Great all around offroad tire but I would not recommend them for a DD as stated above, they suck on wet roads:eek:

harder compound than super swamper but priced well.
