Drywall sucks... insulation sucks more

So, better late than never, should have done this about september or october of last year, but you never think to do anything ahead of time, right?

Did vapor barrier, drywall, and about 12" of rolled in batt insulation. Should be about an R50 rating with as thick and doubled/triple layered as i did it... Keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Picked up a Dayton propane forced air unit last week (from Hodgie). Should keep it toasty in there.

Plans of course to do the walls, but I'm too damn busy right now to tear stuff away from the wall to do it. Took me a full weekend plus today with the help of Jwend and his guy Joe, and Dave to get it done. And by "help" i mean they really did it all, and i stood around and drank beer and swept the floors.

Oh yeah, fock insulation... I hate it. I'm still coughing up blood, even with wearing respirator, goggles, etc... The stuff is like Kirby's mom..., can't get her off of me.

I know its too late and would have been very expensive but plywood would have been nice. Always something to attach to.

Did you look at the blown in fiber insulation? I did 500sqft in my attic for just under $200 with the machine rental from Home Depot. I think 20" was somewhere around the R30 range. It was stupid easy and limited contact, just point and spray. Made a HUGE difference!

Ive got way less than that in all my insulation, got a great deal on a ton of used 6 and 9 inch batts.... it's double and triple layered, should net me about R80 or so i guess, hahhhh.
