Sorry, but I'm not a fan of plastic flares. Those aren't the worst I've seen though.

yes it was great to get back in the woods ! I even got a chance to wheel with my 16 year old. He had a blast and has a bunch of new body damage to show off to his buddies. His little XJ goes like crazy :beers:

they did suprisingly well , I'm only running two of them with the beadlock ring installed right now and I couldn't remember which two .... so I only went down to about 15 psi. to keep the others on the bead. I couldn't get a good feel for them on some of the big hills due to my front drive shaft wanting to jump out :D but for the price ..... I'll give'm a thumbs up !

RuffedUpXJ 06-23-2010 02:28 PM

I saw that you got Jeremy and Scott out there. nice work.

muddinredneck513 06-23-2010 02:57 PM

is that at the trussels in trenton? i used to ride up there alot but stoppped goin. i didnt know what kind of trouble you get in for riding up there and im thinkin youd be the man to ask lol

KargoMaster 06-23-2010 03:33 PM

I once knew of a rig that ran 37" HMMWV tires... I thought they were OK, after I got the Iroks, Brody told me that I would get stuck on wet grass with the HMMWV tires... :o

When my recentered wheels go back together... I'm planning on putting the flanged bolts in there with the heads to the outside... I did manage to snap off a grade 8 bolt down to the nut that was sticking out just like yours... FWIW.

biggin69 06-23-2010 03:56 PM

I cannot believe you ride there:eek: :D

Does your son work @ Lee's? I saw that XJ in the parking lot the other day.

:beers:

I was going to do that , I had a bunch of allen head stainless bolts just begging to go in the wheels ..... just didn't have enough on hand.

gothodgie 06-23-2010 07:31 PM

Truck looks good whether it has a blown motor or not... I like the stance.. What did you end up with for wheelbase?

Any day in the woods/on the trail is a good day...

:beers:

sarge 06-24-2010 03:42 PM

Haven't even stopped long enough to measure it ..... I will get back to you on that !

sarge 06-25-2010 08:33 AM

motor is out , right before i pulled it I drained the oil and found out the the last time a changed it I must have put 5 quarts of super rare and expensive " Bass Boat Metallic Oil " in it .

I would say I lost a main bearing or two. Now on to the donor vehicle after work !!!

You should have been able to catch a couple fish with that if you got the metallic flake going on. I am suprised you didn't suck any fish in with that kind of attractant.

That little XJ does a hell of a job for what little it has done to it. There were times it surprised me infact

Previous owner of my truck had bushwacker cutouts on when I bought it. They looked ok, but creaked and cracked. 1st trail I took in Kentucky, I backed up with the wheels cranked and peeled one half off.
Decided to take them off and found terrible rust hiding.

Now every time I see them I have a bad reaction.

Freak'n up date time ......

Third time out is the charm ! Got the rig in the woods yesterday after :
new motor
new ECM
new trans
new transfer case
new front drive shaft .......

and a really big head ache. I found a few wires that snuck in between the block and bell housing and caused havoc with my ECM. Had the Trans sent out and built with the good stuff.

Rig did great , mad flex, stable and a good ride over the ruff stuff. Played for a few hours and started getting used to it, so I started playing a little bit harder :) . On the way home I blew a steering line due to installer error (me), it rubbed against the steering shaft ..... opps my bad !!!! new one on order ! Only problem is the VSS is not letting the trans shift in 4lo. It shifts fine in 4h and 2h so I'm going to have to work on that.... not that it's a major deal, just switch from 4h to 4lo a little more then normal .

I would like to add ...... driving a couple of miles in a creek bed with no power steering and 37's with 5 psi makes your arms hurt
