ok here it goes 94 4.0ho 5 speed
starts acting up and not wanting to start and no gas to the fuel rail and wait a bit and it would be find so out comes the tank and fuel pump in goes the new. along with filter and full tune up. but still doing the same exact thing and in the moring you can forget it untill it warms up and then the check eng light will come on and the pump will kick in and it will fire right up. once it does that its fine and will run all day. its just when yopu first turn the key on you have to wait on the check light to come on once it goes out it starts right up i coded it and it gave me a MAT code so i got one coming from advanced today but if thats not it someone please point me some where i have missed afew days of work cuz of it
and she is pissed to since her jeep aint running

sounds like the computer or a relay under the hood for the fuel or the safety shut down system.

oh yea i forgot i repalced the relay too

Check for an asd relay. It stands for automatic shutdown relay. I hate wiring! :mad:

well just replaced the MAT and still doing it so looks like ill order the auto shut down relay today and try that too

Their should be another relay in the fuse panel that is identical that you can use to diagnose. You can also use a volt meter and check it. I had a similar problem and ended up having to have the truggy wired from scratch and paid 2000.00 for it. :o Always disconnect the battery before welding on a vehicle.

grrrrrrr now i am gettign pissed
i have changed out the auto shut off relay and everything i can think of and still doign the same thing this morning the key has been on 30 mins and still not kicked in now after its fired and warmed up it only takes like 5 mins
i am at wits end here knew i should have stuck to the carbs lol
does anyone know if i can just hot wire a bump switch in to prime it if that will work????????

You can easily by-pass the fuel relay. a simple jumper wire will do it.

nope it finally went it was the ecm slowly takign a crap on me so if anyone has one let me know

The first thing I mentioned was the computer. Did you have it checked? Post up in the wanted section if you are looking for a computer and you may get lucky.

well it went slow and finally yesterday it would not do anything and i just took it out to check it and WOW this thing is TOAST here is pics of the style of plug i need

I have one of those from a 93 4.0L Automatic XJ. Is there any difference? $50

that will have to be asked by someone more knowing of injection then i i dont see why as long as the plugs are the same

ok i did find the answer to that the codes have to match the 3 bold numbers on the comptuer
