My dads girlfriend gave me her daughters old van. Ran great when parked 4 months ago. Put a battery in today and it wont turn over. I will take the starter in to be tested but any other ideas?

Bad ground maybe.

Do the gauges and crap work like normal when you turn the key to the ON position?


Check for battery terminal corrosion and stuff, also check the grounds as stated above.

someone tried to jump it and hooked the cables up backwards and blew the main battery fuse(usually a 80-100 amp fuse) maybe. AAAs tow truck guys are good for doing this.
