No oil to the head

I have a I-6 that is not getting oil to the head but it shows good oil pressure. I don't want to remove the engine. How can I clean out the engine? I was thinking kerosene. Any ideas?

Are we talking about a Jeep motor???? I would pull the valve cover and make sure the push rods are not gunked up. Are the hydraulic lifters noisy??????

Sorry yota but its on one of the new projects. Its a 91. It is fairly gummed up on top. I want to do what I can before the engine has to come out and gone through.

There are all kind of engine cleaners on the market, I hear good things about the Sea Foam.

I have too. But what do I do? The valve cover is off. I was thinking pour something in there and let it soak and see what happens

I would spray it with brake cleaner, change the oil, add a cleaner, follow the directions of the cleaner and change the oil again.

My 4 cylinder in my Camry has a history of sludge that I read somewhere. I will run a diesel oil in it once in awhile to clean it out.

Sounds good I will give it a try.
