Endurance Race @ IOK, Timing System
We are considering an upgrade to an electronic timing system for the Endurance races this year. The system would be able to capture your timing for the laps, number of laps, average lap time, calculated speed, etc.
Since we run several competitors at once the system will be capable of knowing who is who on the course. I am curious to hear what people would think of a system like that. Is knowing your lap times important? Speed? etc? What information is important or would you like to know? Let me know what you guys think. BTW: Mark your calendars our first Endurance for 2012 is April 21. I will post up information over the next few days. |
Frank, I think the four things you mentioned are good. It would also help you guys with figuring out the top drivers for each race.

Electronic timing is king. Keeps any kind of arguing or discrepencies happening from inaccurate lap counting etc. Be great for competitors to know their best lap times etc, as well as telling you how well you were doing even if you end up with a DNF.

My only bummer is not having this new rig completed in time for the first race.

AMA has been running transponders for years, like CW hit on, it takes away all discrepancies.

Yes, we need more info on the races. Time of day, cost, classes, etc. would be great!
