I've been getting 24-28mpg, and (as I mentioned about the speeding ticket) I haven't been "letting the grass grow"... The all wheel drive has been getting a workout in the rain as well... (rear axles about the size of my pinky... HA!)

Because (and you'll have to have faith for this one) I have an offroad rig... a purpose built trail vehicle, I know that my opinion is just that... but I would never want to subject a daily driver to what I do to a vehicle offroad... as my parent's used to tell me I'm "rough on things"... I believe even our Tresurer Bob will agree... last time he was in my rig, I jumped it off the lip of the creek right there at camp with the Dana60 about 3 feet in the air... BLAM!! ...trailer queen forever.
This one is my
fuel efficient daily driver... this fuel efficiency thing is what took the Wranglers and FJ-Cruisers out of the mix... they can't touch 24-28mpg in a 4.0L or even a 2.4L (which I see is 18-ish... not much better than the 5.3L in the GMC)
Besides, I'm cheap, I paid cash for this one, and couldn't get close to what I paid for an FJ-Cruiser... They're just too new... I found 1 that was in the range I wanted to pay... clicked on it, to see salvage title in all caps... and the thing was STILL WRECKED!!! Front and rear just DESTROYED... ummm, no.
Do I dig the aesthetics of the FJ's more than the E... yep, but I guess I'm just not that discriminating...

I also have two kids, and the rear suicide doors beat the pooh out of strapping them into a Wrangler back seat.
