I just thought about it. Check and see if you could do full crossover steering. The tie rod could go where it apparently originally went and the drag link could extend where the tie rod currently is. Check for clearances. Just an idea if they don't want to lift.

On the T-case, the possibility exists that it could be an oddball NP207 from and 87 wrangler. Never laid eyes on one, but they came in front of a Peugot trans that year so????
