Harlan is getting a ton of rain this week, and more next week. We'll be lucky if it doesn't rain while we're down there. There's no way I will be able to park where we camped last year. Unless you have a 4x4, I doubt you will make it. Pitching a tent in the mud sounds fun.
They complained about Tim parking his big rig on the gravel lot, no so much about us camping there next to our trucks. Somebody always camps on the gravel. As long as it's not dusty, it isn't bad.
The campground where the showers are is first come, first served, no reservations. But like Jim said, it's lit up all around there. I don't think our group would fit there anyway.
Personally, I don't want to camp in the mud all weekend if I don't have to.
