ROCK course
OK. guess that makes my mind up for me. That seems odd. Did they have too big of a turn out or something last year? Or maybe they dont want an outsider coming in and making them look silly on the rocks?

The rock crawl is just starting to take off , You have to understand that Gravelrama is a Sand Drag Event , not a rock crawl or obstical course or junoir drag event . They do these things to bring in more people and have more things to do . East Coast Sand Drag rules state that they can not start ANY event until the flat drags are DONE. This means the rock crawl could start at any time on Sat. evening --- could start at 5 pm could start at mid-night. They limit the number of vehicles because if it does start at midnight they can get all of them through the event and not run all night. Most of the guys running the event will have started there day very early in the morning at the flat drags.
My hats off to the IOK guys , they work there asses off for weeks putting on this event. |

With the rule that stands about no other event starting till after the sand drags are done and it being a sand drag event, it doesnt sound good for the rock crawl guys in the future at gravelrama either. cant see sand drag guys changing there rules for rock crawling. i was hoping to see a local rock crawling event gain popularity and grow but i guess it will have to happen at a different event other than gravelrama. You are right i bet there is a ton of work behind the scenes to make the show happen.

There are other dates where there are rock crawl only events at the location, gravelrama is the "main" yearly event that is predominantly for the drag racers.
