March Meeting Minutes
The March meeting was held Monday the 5th at Symmes tavern.
Jeff Smith opened up the meeting by acknowledging guests. We had three, the fisrt being Mike, who is a neighbor of Kelly's, he has a 79 CJ5 stretched out to 111" wb with several other mods, next is Brian from Eaton who has a 89 XJ with a small lift and 33's, and third was Dan with an 88 Sami hardtop with several mods. Next was the treasurers report by Bob Heath. We have some money in the bank, with several people paying dues this evening. Just a reminder that the deadline for renewing members to get the reduced membership fee is the April meeting. To refresh that topic, renewing 2006 members can re-up for $30 by next meeting. Mike Karwath gave a status report of the website. Currently it is up a running well with updates coming soon. All the forums are working and galleries will be available soon. Mike will put in place an email for pictures to be sent and in turn be posted on the site (gallery@cincyoffroad.com). We now have a set of rules and guidelines in place for the site and moderators are being setup to help the administrators with keeping the site within the guidelines. Each user can go into UserCP and set up their own individual censorship properties. If there is something that you view on the site that you feel in questionable then PM an admin or moderator to address it. Again we want to stress to PM AND NOT ADDRESS IT IN THE FORUMS!!! Mike will be posting up a list of the moderator of the site, and he and Brad Watts, aka Kargomaster are the admins. We discussed t-shirt designs next, with Carwash, myself, Jim Smith, and Shane Buchanan submitting designs. Those in attendance voted and we came to two ties between Mike's and Shane's, so the free dues were given to Shane. Part of mikes submission will be th front and Shane's will be the back of the shirt. Another topic that was brought to the clubs attention was the we received a donation of an RTI ramp from Travis Hall, aka gunrunner. Those in attendance voted unanimously to take care of his dues for the year as a guesture in exchange for the ramp. It is a very nice, well constructed ramp with ample space for our clubs advertisement on the sides. Our August "benefit" show was confirmed. We are raising money to help to family of Carly Craig, from a couple of the members church. She was diagnosed with leukemia and has battled for several months and the family has accumulated quite a few medical expenses. At our next meeting there will be flyers with information about her and her family as well as her current condition. The show will be on August 4th in Trenton Ohio. There is a big open field next to the parking lot and a big dirt pile. Our new RTI ramp will be there and possibly a couple cars to drive over. There was discussion about having a couple of competitive events and give trophies for them. Events that were thrown outr are best RTI, show and shine, tug of war. Jeff is looking for somesuggestions for possible events. Please post them in the general discussion forum under the benfit sticky. We also discussed the admission fees for the show, about $20 per vehicle, $5 or $10 for walk ins, kids 15 and under free. There was also talk of possibly doing a joint effort for entry/food with admission but we need to talk to the owner about this. The only trip this month was by Dustin and Scott to the Badlands. Within 20 minutes Dustin's Sami was down to 2 wheel drive and shortly after that 1 wheel drive. The rode around with our guest Dan and had a eventful time while there. This month Mike is going to the Bridge for a day trip, contact him for info on meeting places and times. There is a trip to Haspin scheduled for the 23rd, 24th post up in the trail rides section if you are interested in going. Thanks, Jason Grossnickle C.O.R.E. Secretary
