tranny question

are the 4.0 and 5.2 the same bellhousing and will the trannys interchange

bellhousing is definitely different from 5.2 V8 & 4.0 straight 6, I've been told an AW4 will NOT work on a ZJ but I dont know why unless the tranny computers are not inter-compatible.
