Xj alternator
The other night when it was snowing I was out playing and I have a question.
With the heater blower on, headlights, wipers, and radio on I switched the rear defroster on and the voltage dropped from 14 (where it always is) to 13 and the belt started squealling real loud for about 30 seconds then the voltage came up and the squealling stopped. I know that was a lot of draw but could this also be an indication of an alternator issue?

Thanks Scott,Sorry for the late reply.Been out of town...
Could be a loose belt slipping under load.. With all that on ,the voltage drop is normal. I would remove the belt and make sure the alt spins freely ,ruling out a alt bearing starting to lock up. Good Luck Nick Go Bengals!!WHO-DEY!!!I Believe!
