If you havent been, you need to go. I was told not to go because you can run all the hard trails in one day. That is impossible. Took us 11 hours to run atomic ridge and the hard part of that trail is only about ½ mile long. You couldnt run all the gravel roads in one day with 72,000 acres of choices.
Well worth the drive. Closer than Harlan.

How much to wheel? Can you wheel at night? Many rules? Are the trails marked? Sorry for all the questions.

Yes on the marked trails , actually for a donation to the club that maintains the property and holds the usage agreement you can get a laminated trail guide! As of Labor-day 05' there was night riding permitted but rule changes and trail openings and closing are very common there.
I would have to say that the ride off the mountain at night in my old rail at way beyond a safe or sensable speed rat racing my buddy's was something I wouldn't ever forget, think Pikes Peak ! There are several trails there that are a challenge to the best comp buggies out there, if you climb everything there you got one bad rig! Last time I was there only about 40% of 70K acres where opened to full size rigs , to see the other 60% you will need an ATV or bike. Camping space is very limited. It's most definitely a great place to ride! |

I have been there about ten times and still have not covered all the trails there are. It is well worth the drive. The waterfall trail is the best. Its the Only trail i have ever been on with a sign that says"Enter at your own risk". Most of my riding was with my ATV, only had the Jeep there once.
