upgrading tj trac bar

ive posted on this subject awhile back and now its back to the building steps. im looking at installing the clayton adjustable trac bar w drop bracket. frame side. but my question is about the drop pitman arm and axle side drop bracket that came with the lift.

i am running a 4in SA suspension which included a DPA and axles side drop bracket for the trac bar. so with installing the clayton kit, is the DPA needed and can i cut off the bracket on the axle and use the factory trac bar location.

i was looking throught the pictures of the one clayton has installed and it appears that they have the DPA but are using the factoring mounting hole on the axle side.

You need the DPA to make your drag link angle match your track bar. But why are you cutting brackets off? Why not just add and adjustable track bar and call it even? With a SA kit, its not a huge deal. Should still flex pretty good

the only bracket that would be cut off is the track bar re location bracket on the axle side that came with the lift originally. i would hav eto cut it off because i welded it on due to gettig death wobble from the bracket coming loose. so with the DPA and the new adjustable trac bar i dont think i need the axle side drop bracket. correct?

I am using a clayton Track bar with the Clayton Drop Bracket on the frame side. I have a 4" Drop pitman arm on right now and I am going to try a 3" Xj pitman arm to get the angles correct. If you are using the Clayton drop Bracket with the track bar you are going to need a drop pitman arm. If you are using a clayton Track bar with the factory track bar bracket you probably will need a factory Pitman arm. The angle of the track bar needs to be as close to parallel to the angle of the drag link. Measeured through the mounting points. I would not use the axle drop bracket you are using. Clayton is also very helpful with tech questions about there products. I just sent them some pictures of my setup yesterday with some questions they were great help.

Looks like the angles would improve with the axle bracket in the factory spot
