cherokee running funny

one of my cherokees just recently encountered this problem. When you first start it it runs real rough almost like its missing... but when you give it gas and start driveing it will start to act normal. And it does not always do this. Any thoughts?

its a 2000 by the way... bone stock, 4.0

if you dont know the tune-up history on the jeep i would go one step further and do cap/rotor and wires with plugs. moisture really affects those peices.

check your fuel injectors for leaks also, if one is leaking do not start or drive it until replaced.

Mine did the same thing not long ago. I put some fuel injection cleaner gas additive in it and changes the plugs, wires and distributor cap. Ran fine ever since
