Alternator Upgrade
I have been doing some research on upgrading my alternator. I have an `83 4.2L. I recently acquired a Ford Taurus Radiator fan and plan to install that along with a higher output alternator. Do to the current from fan and room for future mods.
I currently have the stock 63amp version. Anyone know of a 120 - 165amp version that would be ideally a direct drop-in no fabrication work. If so, what year/model vehicle would it be found on? If not, to what extent of fabrication is needed. What have you guys done who are running the taurus fan? |

Check out this site
http://www.extreme4wheelin.com/tech/...ators/tech.htm All the delco alternators are listed. Notice the CS alternators have a different plug that you can get an adapter for. Stay away from the CS 130s, they overheat and shut down and are open to dirt.
