All my tires have been shipped by UPS...I guess the others will ship them too.

I do a lot of shipping at work and if you can find a business account to ship them for you it will knock off about 30% of the price. If your tires are 16" wide than they will be to large to ship small package and they will kill you with overage charges. Your best bet would be to ship freight. If you can't get a business to do it for you, than freightquote.com is one of the cheaper places.

I tried UPS freight and r&l. I don't know if I'm asking the wrong people but the cheapest of the 2 was a little over $900.

Your in oxford? Id see if 4y'all wheel parts in industry or wheeling has or can get them for you and just go across 70 and pick them up. Unless of course you are buying them used.

I shipped a set of 4 39" BFG reds through R&L to NC about 6 months ago .. bill was like $240.

R&L has been the cheapest and easiest shipper to deal with .. I've shipped T-cases , D60/14ff , 39.5" Boggers ....

Just get a weight and footprint of you're tire and give them a call..

UPS freight is crazy high...they should wear a black ski mask when issuing quotes!

You could also give the guy a quote and let him pay actual shipping on his end ... R&L will email you two COD shippers..tape to the tires ..roll on dock and you're done.

I have heard you can ship through Amtrak if both of you don't mind doing a little work. Fairly cheap.

Basically you need to take the tires to the Amtrak station (i.e. - Union Terminal) and they will transport them to his nearest Amtrak station. He would need to go there and pick them up, kind of like a passenger.
