In Attendance:
- Members - - Brad Bean - Jim Busch - Robert Hull - Andy Morgan - Kevin OBryon - Jeff Ratliff - Rich Santefort - Jeff Smith - Zach Smith - Allie Spurlock - Tim Taylor And ten more spouses and guests, including our old friend Brody Jacobs. Treasury Report: Yes, we have money. Specific Treasurer Reports in the Members forum here. Trail Report: - Southern Shine at Harlan, Memorial Day, May 24-28 This trip turned into a really nice weekend. The forecasted rain never really materialized, and except for a little drizzle, the weather was decent. There was a fair bit of carnage, as you'll get at Harlan. Jimmy Crawford flopped twice in the first twelve hours; once Friday morning, and again Friday night. Apparently, nothing hurt but his pride, but he was already talking about new tires by the time he got home. Jim Busch had a caliper seize up, so he unbolted it, strapped it to the axle housing, and motored on! Kevin broke an axle in his RZR going up Whitetail, and Tim lost a steering knuckle. Bill Burwinkle punched a hole in his oil pan on Middle Rock Garden, and Jeff Ratliff broke the road on his way to go get gas. Yep... Pics here and here. - CORE Members Moab Trip, May 31 - June 10th This trip was almost too epic to summarize. The adventure started before the guys even left. Andy Morgan gave up on fixing his CJ's steering, and went n bought a RZR just for the trip, the day before. Tony fought overheating and driveability issues all the way out, stretching a 24 hour drive to about 32. They didn't actually lose much time, though, as they just had shorter nights on the way... Day One was short, running just half of Fins n Things. Day Two was the rest of that, then Hell's Revenge, Hell's Gate, and Escalator, Devil's HotTub and Carwash. All were a whole new style of wheeling for our crew: Huge obstacles with huge traction. Day Three was CliffHanger, which involved about the only winch work of the trip; and Day Four was Poison Spider, hiking to the Delicate Arches, and a night run that ran til 230am. Day Five was Pritchett Canyon, rumored to be the toughest wheeling Moab has to offer. The phenomenal traction made it interesting, but definitely doable. Just great wheeling. Which really, just sums up the whole trip! Lots of amazing pics, some here and more here.. Upcoming Events: - Rookie Ride at Mud Madness, June 24th This will be another easy, "fun-run" kind of a trip. Beginner and street-rig friendly, just a nice day out in the woods. Details here. - WindRock TN, June 28 - July 1st We've managed to salvage our Windrock trip this year and will be headed down the end of the month. Some of us are arriving throughout the day on Thursday the 28th and a couple on Friday. More info and signup here. - Members Cookout at Rich's Farm, July 21st This was postponed at the last minute, so more of the Club Members could attend. The new date is aturday the 21st. Sign up for a headcount and side dish here. - Golden Mountain, August 9-12th This one is still a little ways off, but time does fly. Mark your calendar Official Business: - Harlan Pink Hook This month's Pink Hook Award goes to Jimmy Crawford, for his two flops in twelve hours at Harlan. In keeping with Pink Hook Tradition, Jim sealed his prize by not being present at the meeting to defend himself. Honorable Mention went to Jeff Ratliff for getting stuck in the road...
