From what I've seen/heard/witnessed....run it and upgrade what breaks.
So which color did you get?

any of you people meet up to wheel the r/c's? i got a built 2.2 clod and the wifey's got a semi-built wheely king if anyone wants to reek havoc. both are waterproofed so taking it into the mud and scuba diving(total submersion) are not an issue.

Addweight to the front axle or wheels to help it climb.

Replace the stock plastic lockers with the metal ones. Also, the stock tires are garbage.
Here is my Losi 1.9 (not much of anything left stock) and my 2.2 before I changed the chassis. As far as crawling, I crawl at comps alot but am always up for crawling for fun with some locals if anyone wants to meet up. |

the nice thing about the losi is you can use it anywhere because of its size. it will amaze you with what it can do right out of the box but who can leave anything alone. lets see i have different tires, metal lockers in both axles and center, hige clearence lower arms, aluminum bodied fully adjustable shocks that are also relocated, lower pinion gear and of course a suzuki body so much like the real world the initial purchase is the easy part and the rest is history

So some of you guys wheel these things for fun and comp...are you guys in it for the long haul or what..the reason I ask is because a few friends convinced me to get back into r/c racing and we bout 1/10 losi sliders(sprint cars) and we raced for several months..ofcourse we upgraded to hotter engines and shocks chassis' and what not only to quit racing after I dropped a grand on the car and upgrades..now they sit on the shelf..I have been looking at the buggies at hooby town and wondered if anyone messed with them..i jus dont want to drop a grand on another r/c and not have fun with it..

I have been doing R/C since I was about 6 years old. I used to race nitro onroad, nitro offroad, and electric indoor oval and offroad. I quit all of that as soon as I built my first R/C Crawler. I have now been doing it for about 3 years and I love it.

For $2,600 you could buy a Jeep/Yoda/Sami in good enough condition to go wheel for real!

Yeah but the tow rig is cheaper and cleanup and repairs are easier.

Also, for those that may be interested, my club, Tri-State Crawlers is having a big comp @ Falls Of The Ohio (http://www.fallsoftheohio.org/). Our site is Tri-StateCrawlers.com. Registration is full but this is by far the best place to crawl r/c's in the tri-state. Last edited by biggin69; 10-12-2009 at 07:46 PM. |

Nothing is "wrong" with me.....I have alway wanted another large scale ever since I got rid of my Jackrabbit......30.5cc "chainsaw" motor that MCD oughts haul ass on ANY surface. When Traxxas came out with the Tmaxx years ago I had one that had nearly $3k in it.........granted it ran 80MPH but not worth wasting money..........but a 1/5 scale to me is worth it!!! |
