FWIW, This isnt set in stone yet. There is a 45 day appeal process that is currently happening then the Forestry Service has another 45 days to look over the appeal and decide, THEN if they still decide to close the area the case will be taken to the courts.
So as of now its closed, but people are fighting everyday and there is still at least 3 months until they decide what is happening for sure. Then it might go to the court system after that. We'll see. |

I got an email from these guys on 10/15 "comments-southern-north-carolina@fs.fed.us"
It down right sucks! Maybe some fish eating bird will wipe out all the little trout (aka baitfish!) and we wont have to worry about the river allegedly getting muddy!!!! ![]() PS here is the guy in the story ![]() |

Yea would hate to see the area closed. Some of the best wheelin you can find on this side of the country.
I talked to friend in Tenn that told me the general store and the motel in Green Cove has been hit hard since all this started with the forestry service. Met a lot of good people there and had some great times over the last 12,15 years. Would go there at least twice a year for the TLCA events.
