Yeah, leaves in the rear as well, XJ's turned backwards. Yeah, that 1 nasty weld that is left is the crossmember for the anti wrap bar. I am waiting to see if its in the right spot before i burn it in. Might have to move it, pending on where the tcase ends up, etc.

Moving right along, got a **** ton done today... it rolls again.
Shackles built and everything assembled with Lawson grade12 bolts. 120,000 pound tensile strength or something freaking insane like that. Springs mounted, rig flipped and axles back under it... whooohoooo Now, next in line is to get tub painted, frame painted, set tub on frame, build motor mounts, build tcase mounts, reinstall cage, wired it, etc... you know just a few hours work.

Nice!! What's the steering going to look like? You still gonna use those stubby highsteer arms?
Coming together pretty quick, nice job.

Stock cherokee springs, no lift.
Using these high steer arms for now, yes. Well, at least one of them. Drag link in stock location, and arm from pitman to high steer. By the way, looking for a drop pitman arm for a cj... anybody got one?

I'm guessing it's different than the YJ one that I have...
Reinforce the frame like you did for the rust, drill it and weld in bosses for the MJ steering gearbox with YJ drop arm that I have... even easier if it's sitting there with a P-series Saginaw pump. It would be stronger on a few levels... just a thought.

Dunno if they are the same or not, but I can't imagine they are. Anyone?
HD mounts for the CJ box are already purchased, and damn near on the frame already. CJ stuff will be fine I'd say for the 40" tires.

Did a couple more day's work on this, this week. Put tub on for measurements, then pulled it back to drop the drivetrain into it to build mounts...
Used your standard horn/fabset mounts for the motor and tube between the horn and frame. They will be braced with plate vertically, and another tube horizontally, but not until I pull the motor back out. Hiccup in the mix, one of the 1/2" holes on the 205 adapter was stripped, so drilled and tapped it for 9/16... that was a *****. With the way these cast adapters are notorious for breaking in aftermarket applications, I wanted to utilize the stock style mounts so that the thing could as much flex as needed as to not break the ears off. Cross your fingers, still trying to figure out a way to utilize a torque type auxiliary mount for it. Utilized tubing, fabsets, and 1/4" plate to finish up the tcase mount. May still do some more bracing and more protection off of it, but the jury is still out, as this is a serious budget build. What i have now works, and i've already got a half day into it. Had to make a cutout in one tube for the 205 to drop into. The pig tcase already hangs too low, so i wanted to tuck the xmember up as high as i could. Rolling this out today to insulate the shop. Not a ton left to do on it. Rear anti-wrap, finish motor mounts, tub install, hood/fenders/grill, radiator, wiring, paint, blah blah, blah... ok still quite a bit.

Looks good CW... the least favorite part of mine was getting the bushings out of the tacked fab sets...
I have an even greater appreciation for those beautiful welds.
