well still overheating and the whole coolant system is new. no time to mill the head

he said it stayed cool until the highway and then it overheated again, so he turn around to go home and once he got off the highway right back to runnin cool again.

There is a restriction somewhere in the cooling system. Let it sit and idle with the radiator cap off and the heat in the full on position. See if it burps any air. Make sure the thermostat is installed in the correct direction.

he says hes tried it it only overheat on the interstate. the head is goin to be milled this weekend hopefully

Has he replaced the hoses? I happened to see somewhere that somebody was having the same symptoms and it was a weak rad hose collapsing when the motor was kept at highway speed and load.

Agree. Or if it dosnt have spring in it, it can collapse. A cracked head is also possible

Ooo, good idea. X3 on that lower radator hose.

It gets old and soft and will collapse.
