There is plenty of parking and camping. Last time we were there, Jimmy shredded his rear tires on his dually on the lava rock in the parking lot, so beware.

They do, you just have to be able to pull up the hill to get to it. I spun out on the hill last time, had to go to 4wd in the super duty. A good run at it and you might have it. Don't try to creep it though.

73 wasn't great, but still better than AA. We can try 32 to 23.

Here's a link to the map so everyone's on the same page. http://goo.gl/maps/wKsVn

Looks like most of us are meeting at the Meijer's on 32 Friday at noon. I think Jim Busch and Jimmy Crawford are leaving Saturday morning sometime. Hopefully everyone will fit in those 2 groups.

I'm tentatively putting this on my schedule. Haven't been out since late summer and the boys are done with basketball at the end of February.

I curious about the turn out for camping. Mostly, will be club be staying in campers or tents? My plan it to throw my backpack in the tow rig and when it's time to setup camp... lay out my sleeping bag.

I've been meaning to ask about facilities. I assume it's pretty much roughing it? Mastiff?

I sleep in the back of my Burban tow rig, but we do get guys in tents and guys in campers. It's a motley crew!

Mastiff,

I created a event for this on FB too... I hope you don't mind... I figured it would maybe peak some more interest...

I kinda doubt it. I have a plan to be at Golden Mountain the following weekend, or I would definitely be in for some trail cleaning/cutting.

I'm going to try to make it. Have some TLC to do on the toyota first. If I go, we'll have a 30' box that a few people can crash in.

All camping is primitive. There are plans on building a shower house but they had to put on the back burner. Park owner had to have the road crossing redone to make the state happy. Also, there is a KOA campground a short drive from the park.

For what it's worth, that's 12 miles and 21 minutes from the park.

Holiday Inn Express in Ashland is 8 miles and 15 minutes, with a bbq joint and chain restaurants in walking distance...

Kevin,I've been running 32 to 104 lately in the big truck. It's way better than 73 and you avoid all the traffic lights and traffic on 23.

I've never driven either, so 32 to 104 it is.

So I am Definitely going to this but will arrive late Friday night. Can someone provide explicit directions for me. Also save me a spot I have a 4x4 RV 26.5' long with a 36' trailer. Will have 2 rigs. SO I need lots of room!

This will be fun!
