Checked the other shafts, and two of them have a slight wobble to them. Doh!

Been checking out tires again. Found two I really like in a 30x10x14. It's easy to see why the crawler weighs more. Looks like the Carnivore might clean out better. Opinions?

Carnivore looks like it would clean better as said but I'd say the other would get better traction on rock

I've been watching the videos of the SRRS UTV races and Cash's RZR buggy has carnivores on it and he was the only one to make it up a hill in the race before last and this race he was one of five to make it up another hill but he was the only one that didn't break the tape. When it's time I'll be getting Carnivores for mine.

Better plan ahead if you want 30's or 32's. They are on back order often. People buying them like crazy.
I decided to wait and get the Carnivores when they are available. I hate waiting....

Yes.

I am going to sell my old tires and the rims. I ordered 30x10x14 Carnivores today. Supposed to be in around March 29th. Pic of my new rims.

Well, the Carnivores are still on back order, and for who knows how long. So I cancelled them and got the 30" Pro armor crawler XG's. I read online about people saying they run small, the 30 measures 29, but that's not what I found. At 10 psi, they measure 29 7/8. We'll see how my axles hold up at rush.

The new tires are killer in the mud and rocks. I took out a front and rear axle during the testing process. Oh well... Time for some rhino axles.

Been on the trail with both. The XG I like better because they remind me of the old Maxxis full size tires. However after following by buddy at slade, they don't clean out well in the mud. The carnivores have really surprised me and I was holding out for them but if you can't get them, it doesn't do me any good.

I was checking the machine over and found I had cracked the rack and pinion housing where It bolts up. So, time for upgrade number, uh, I lost count.
Bought the Super ATV rack boss. This one better hold up.

Glad I replaced the rack. The old one was cracked in to places. Comes with some nice beefy heims.

Been wanting to replace my factory seats with suspension seats. Went with the PRP GT-SE rzr seats with the +2" width. They make the old seats look tiny. Very comfy and roomy.

I meant to ask at the meeting and I forgot: What are your plans for the old seats? They're valuable enough to sell, right?

Yes, they're great shape. The plan was to keep them in case I sold the 900 and got a newer one. Sell it with the stock seats and keep the new ones for the new machine.

Cool. Good plan. I just wanted to make sure they weren't going in the garbage...

The past few rides I've noticed the front diff making a ratchet noise when I'm getting on it hard. Opened up the diff up today to see what's up.

Found a tang missing and some bent ones on the armature plate.

I bought a heavy-duty sprag to put in because I figured it was cracked but the old one was in great shape. Unfortunately I found that I had cracked the ring and pinion. So I got to buy a new one of those as well.

While I had the diff out I went ahead and replaced the three U joints and the carrier bearing on the drive shaft.

I ordered a new ring and pinion and found out that the new ring and pinion does not exactly fit like my old one. So I'm hoping I can get the lip milled off of the new ring gear to match my old one. I'm already into this diff for $600. Super ATV website says it should fit but it won't. Evidently there were certain years on the XP 900 that it would not fit. You can see in the picture that there is a ring connecting the ring gear teeth on the new one and not on the old one, that part needs to be milled off.

"Edit" I got the lip milled off and it worked great. Thanks for the help Chris.

HD Extreme has some nice upgraded parts for the front RZR diffs. I bought their HD armature plate. This is way stronger than the stock one. They now have 2 options, strong and stronger. The one for the 800 or 900 XP has 5 or 10 tabs, and the 1000 XP has 6 or 12 tabs. I believe with that many tabs gripping the sprag carrier, you are less likely to crack the sprag. There is also more area for the magnet to grip.
I tested it out at Harlan and the diff worked great.

The stock one on top of the new one.

I started having problems with my front diff at Winrock. I think my last trip to Harlan took a toll on it. All the new parts I put in last year are toast. Superatv now has a steel sprag that they claim is indestructible. That sounds like a challenge to me
